Which is the better buy for the sports gamer?

I got money for a new game...and I'm kind of torn on these two. So what's the pros and cons of each, and which should I buy?

havent played NHL 12 still have 11


bought NBA 2k12 and 2k11 is better IMO still a great game but 2k11 was better.

I chose 2k12 over NHL 12. You can't go wrong with 2k12 if you're a basketball fan honestly. The game is nasty.

2k12 IS BY FAR THE GREATEST SPORTS GAME OF ALL TIME...

Get some good sliders, a roster set with edited accessories and you will be in simulation sports heaven...

It is to fun to play this game especially since they actually hit the Bulls pretty good with details...



2K12 > ANY SPORTS GAME...

I don't have either, but given the relative popularity between the two sports I can tell you that 2k12 is going to win this poll regardless of the quality of the two games.

There's a pretty strong hockey following on this board, actually -- but you're most likely correct. The poll won't determine which I buy, but what the ppl actually say very well might :)

There is, but come on no sport gets the attention that basketball does here.

NBA 2k11 was transcendent in terms of gameplay, presentation, and features. It's kind of hard to follow that up when there's really not much that you could improve on in just one year. That being said, there are several aspects of 2k11 that are better than 2k12, however 2k12 is still a very good game. If you're picky about it, there's a lot of stuff that could annoy you, but the game will never be unplayable or anything like that. You should enjoy it regardless.

Can't say jack about NHL stuff. Haven't played a hockey game since like...2000 or something. lol

It will boil down to which sport you like the most.

But as far as the best sports game, Fifa 12 wins. Even if you aren't a soccer fan, you're going to get sucked into fifa.

I like NBA 2K12 better than 2K11, but I like NHL 11 better than NHL 12. Haha

I'd go with 2K12. It's a very deep NBA simulation with so much to do. It's a hell of a sports game.

thinking i'mma buy 2k12 @ Gamestop tomorrow. Don't have a basketball game, already have NHL 10...and far more knowledgeable about NBA than NHL...

on top of that, I lost Ladd and Toews in the same game of the 2nd round of the playoffs, and it left a bad, bad taste in my mouth.
