Cant wait to get Kush's take on this one!!!! What a ballsy move by EA. They announce NBA Jam, show how awesome it is and say it's only on Wii. They totally redo their basketball game and offer it now as a free download with their new game. If that wont make people give Elite a chance, I don't know what does. With MJ and classic teams in NBA 2k11 and NBA Jam coming with NBA Elite, I think I'm going to have to buy 2 basketball games this year!!!

wow that is awesome. i wonder how close it will be the actual full wii version.

sounds like it will be somewhat incomplete.

i think i might opt to buy the full version on wii. nba jam was a big part of my elementary school days, im gonna need the full one.

Smart move by EA. I was wondering why NBA Jam wasn't being made for Xbox 360 and PS3 anyways.

i'll be playing both game this year and depending on how Elite's controls work, it could be the closest these two title have been in about 7-8 years.

I'm going to write something up about this on my blog, but I was viewing NBA 2K vs NBA Elite as style vs. substance. NBA 2K with they style - MJ. NBA Elite with the substance, new controls. Now I'm not saying NBA 2K doesn't have substance, of course it does. But I'm going by the marquee new feature for each game. For 2K it's Jordan and for Elite it's controls.

Now the controls can end up being a bust - who knows. I'm only this interested because David Littman's controls completely changed how we play hockey video games. Will he have the same effect with Elite?

2K, while I love the Jordan challenge, it's great for only this year. Is it something they can build on for 2K11? Probably not. You can't keep coming back with a retired player as the man selling point for your game every year. So I assume the Jordan thing is a 1-year deal.
And 2K really hasn't promoted anything else. Improving the joke that happened with their online league's is an obvious fix. Along with the framerate issues. Have they made improvements to My Player? I hope so. Still don't understand why you didn't get a boost in grade for scoring points. Is scoring points not important in basketball? They need to fix some inconsistencies with My Player and it can be a great game mode.
I wonder if they'll do the downloadable Draft Combine game again? Does anyone remember when it came out last year? I think it was out at this time last year, but I'm not sure. I haven't heard any news about it.

Adding NBA Jam give Elite a little style too. A good way to appeal to the older/retro basketball gamers. EA with NBA Jam, 2K with Jordan.

Should be a good battle this year.

i hope it isn't. Playing 2k and elite might kill me. i have a gf to hang out with and classes to go to.
