Interesting that they're changing the name.
I think NBA Live has gained serious ground the last two years. I loved NBA 2K8, hated 2K9 and 2K10 was more like 2K8, but it had all those issues. The framerate problem and the online league disconnect really pissed me off. I was done with the game after I couldn't get through the first 2 min. of our league games.
So overall, I still like the gameplay of 2K, but Live has caught up big time. And I can see it getting better. Live is a better looking game with better presentation imo.
This will be the first year since about 2003 that I will go in giving both games equal time.
Live was god-awful from 2004-2008. But 09 and 10 were solid. And it had some interesting features.
Hopefully 2K will improve on their My Player feature. That had some bugs too.
But the problems NBA 2K had last year just falls in line with how the company has fallen off as a whole. At least MLB 2K10 was a little better, still not better than the show. NHL 2K is getting destroyed by NHL. And now, imo, Live has almost caught up to 2K. No football and no college basketball.
For a few years all I played were 2K titles. Now it's almost the opposite. just goes through cycles I suppose.
