Anybody seen these documentaries? A little back ground on myself, I spent 12+ years working in the oilfields up here in Canada. I've worked at various positions including green horn and all the way to site consultant on the drilling side and most of that time was spent drilling shale gas and horizontal wells(the ones they actually frac).
A few years ago, I got told to watch this "Gasland" documentary but never really got around to it until a couple posters asked me about my thoughts on Fracking and the possible effects. At that time, I had no idea where they were going with this, so I told them as far as I knew everything was fairly safe(within a degree), a great alternative resource and great at jobs creation as well. They came back pretty much attacking me because I had not mentioned water issues ... As I far as I knew, there were no such water issues. So again, I got told to watch this documentary(Gasland), so I did.
After watching it, I felt like this documentary was very one sided and jumped to a whole bunch of conclusions, especially about Methane in the water ... Without having too many resources to bounce my questions on(I don't work in the oilfield anymore), I was just stuck with a bunch of questions and way too much on my plate to even bother with this issue.
So last night I log in to NetFlix and find this new documentary called FracNation, without giving away everything, this answered a whole bunch of my questions and confirmed my initial thoughts on the subject!
I know, lots of blah blah, I'm just wondering if anyone checked it out and their thoughts on both these documentaries.
