how long does an intro have to be?! seriously man...

and again with the homerisms... this is a CHICAGO city sports forum... full of........ chicago fans! and most posters on here, tend NOT to be homers.

i half-agree about the playoff format and the 5-game series in the first round. it would shorten things and possibly cause less wear and tear on the players... but for me, that means less games for me to watch. so im just being selfish with my opinion.

but the 1 seed choosing who they face, i think the d-league does that, no? sounds like an interesting idea...

the points thing is kind of a stretch...

i was discussing this with a buddy not too long ago, maybe the seeding can be determined by overall records regardless of conference, so the top 16 records over both east and west. then it would go 1v16, 2v15, 3v14, etc. this way, the 9-12 seeds in the west that have better records than the 8th seed in the east can get the shot that their records deserve.

I would like to see reseeding in the playoffs. The NFL and the NHL use it. It rewards the top seed for being the top seed. As far as D League rules...I don't see it happening in the NBA. Network television likes buildup to the crescendo, which in this case would be the Finals.

Only the NHL reseeds. The NFL does not.

I thought the NFL reseeds up to the conference championships...specifically for the divisional playoff round...if that is not the case then my fault...

As far as the in-arena experience goes, i would LOVE to see the NBA get rid of all this lights, camera and action nonsense (drum lines, acrobatics jumping around on the court during timeouts, music playing incessantly) and just getting back to basketball.

In the old days there was none of that. I miss the days when you could hear the coach addressing the players from the upper deck. Now you can't even hear yourself think.

And can we PLEASE ban "Mony Mony" already!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

the crowd noise gets drowned out by the sound bits and music clips that play every few seconds. it doesnt sound like a ball game anymore, it sounds like a 3 hour crappy and gimmicky variety show. trying to do too many things at once.

during timeouts and between periods i understand, but during play, they need to stop playing all kinds of random crap.

one thing the college game has over the nba, is that purity in arena noise. everything you hear is crowd/player generated, nothing else. i love it! why cant the nba do the same

cleveland was especially bad during the lebron era (not sure if they still are), and new orleans is pretty bad too. i will never understand why arenas continue to play one gwen stefani song, when it relates in no way to basketball or basketball culture in general. its not about basketball anymore, its about revenue. so irritating!
