I may regret this, but here goes! I have a new collection of short stories out today, SPONTANEOUS HUMAN COMBUSTION. I've gotten two starred reviews, a number of excellent blurbs, and overall it seems to be doing well, at #5 over at Amazon under Hot New Releases, in the Horror Anthology category. If you like horror stories, some gritty realism, some supernatural creatures, this may be a collection for you. Thanks for taking a look.

Here is the description from Amazon:

In this new collection, Richard Thomas has crafted fourteen stories that push the boundaries of dark fiction in an intoxicating, piercing blend of fantasy, science fiction, and horror. Equally provocative and profound, each story is masterfully woven with transgressive themes that burrow beneath the skin.
  • A poker game yields a strange prize that haunts one man, his game of chance now turned into a life-or-death coin flip.
  • A set of twins find they have mysterious new powers when an asteroid crashes in a field near their house, and the decisions they make create an uneasy balance.
  • A fantasy world is filled with one man’s desire to feel whole again, finally finding love, only to have the shocking truth of his life exposed in an appalling twist.
  • A father and son work slave labor in a brave new world run by aliens and mount a rebellion that may end up freeing them all.
  • A clown takes off his make-up in a gloomy basement to reveal something more horrifying under the white, tacky skin.
Powerful and haunting, Thomas’ transportive collection dares you to examine what lies in the darkest, most twisted corners of human existence and not be transformed by what you find.

I'm honestly stunned that you're a writer, considering how often you seem to be completely ripping off the tweets and opinions of others. I wouldn't be shocked to one day hear that a lot of your work is plagiarized.

Besides that, you're a homophobic piece of trash who recently shamed a woman for accidentally getting badly injured. Wishing you and your shitty books nothing but the worst and believe i've been keeping receipts on you for a long time. Just wait until you finally give me the finishing touch for the book im going to write on you and send it to the fine people at Keylight.

Fitting that your name is Dick.

Eat shit.

2 ratings?
Yeah, each book can be in up to three categories. This is listed under both Horror and Science Fiction Short Stories, as well as Short Story collections in general.

If you meant two starred reviews, getting a starred review at Publishers Weekly and Library Journal are hard to come by, and carry a lot of weight with bookstores, libraries, etc. You can get a good review or you can get a STARRED review, which typically means it's great, special, something the reviewer really loved. These are my first two ever.

You got a blurb from Palahniuk?
I did. Chuck and I go way back. I started out as a fan, then a student, over at The Cult, then we co-edited an anthology together (Burnt Tongues), and have even met and hung out a few times. Great guy. His blurb was pretty amazing. My publishers liked it so much they put it on the cover (obviously). Big fan of his work, especially the first six books or so.

Chuck is a homosexual. I don't mean that in any derogatory way; it's just fact. My old boss was Chuck's ex-boyfriend.

To be clear, again, congrats to you, @wickerkat on the endorsement and best of luck with your book/anthology , but I just remember how my boss used to tell me how he and Chuck used to laugh about how many angry young men Chuck trolled with 'Fight Club' at least once it became a movie. That said, my boss went AWOL after like 3 months and I ended up having to teach his classes.
