fans are slowly starting to see what is going on with the cubs and their plan. More and more fans are are not buying into the garbage of "oh i met my wife in the bleachers" "im a die hard fan" fans are realizing this is more about toms pockets than a WS. After a while of this, the old tricks of bringing back guys like kerry wood are not going to work. alot of his tendencies are exposed in undercover boss. and with that said, probably one of the worst "gift" endings so far on that show.

Shouldn't we give the Ricketts more than two years (a little over one season really) of ownership before we start saying they care more about their pockets than a world series? They aren't going to buy the team and instantly deliver a ring. If in a few years they have made know attempt to better the team and still demand high prices, then go ahead. I just think it's a little early to claim they don't care and only want your money

Scam. Just trying to get yo money.

How is it a scam to get your money?

You can get all that stuff separately and pay less. You just have to be smart about it and use sites like Stubhub and eBay. Seriously, 4 games in April and May. You can get some really nice seats for really cheap.

Thanks, I've only been to Wrigley once and I don't really know the prices.

You have to realize a few things. The one major thing to remember is: Tom Ricketts' resume, track record, profile of financial behavior. I suggest reading up on some of that. Not trying to be a jerk off here, just trying to help you understand what could potentianally happen here. Most owners go for profit or want a specific bottom line figure, but there are owners who will go to the extreme to make even more money by blindfolding and drugging the fans with misdirected false hope.

The best franchise to do this is in fact the cubs, this is a very unique franchise, and a very rare one where you can do certain things and still know a revenue stream is going to still flow.

I'm not saying you're wrong or that I necessarily disagree with you. I'm just a bit more inclined to give ownership a larger window than 2 years before I say they are mishandling the team or are greedy.

Dewey, I'm going to have to slightly disagree with you here. I think that this is just a sign of desperation. The attendance has been absolutley awful since about last year when we fired Lou.

That would be legit. The minor league team in my town does that every now and then. I think beers are like 1 or 2 bucks and on top of that, you can sit like three rows back from the dugout or home plate for like 10 bucks. Fantastic.

Yeah Id be more impressed with something like that.

Just take large sections of the upper deck for normal attendance games..

Actually... that would be pretty legit.

I know that Cincy does that. They looked like pretty nice seats too, when I went.
