I don't think it looks as good as the old one, but its not terrible. I think the twitter updates look terrible (and while we are at it, I hate that the twitter account updates you on every thread posted, seems kind of excessive).
I think it looks a little blocky, but its not bad. The background is cool, but I don't think its as good as it was before.

The point of the twitter updates is that it can update forum threads. Not so much for the twitter followers but when embedded on the home page it gives our 3 newest threads on the home page to attract more attention to the forums. If it was just twitter updates on our thoughts, it would be wack lol
