I usually wait for someone to tell me what house party to go to. This year though I have a girlfriend on New Years for the first time in 8 years because someone has decided to like more for more than 2 months for once.... so I'm going to whatever house party she is.. So I guess nothings really changed. Good.

Yeah usually someone has a house party and I go hang out till midnight and then head home..... lol if nothing interesting comes up I might just chill at home.... I gotta work that day anyways.

Many people I know have done those stupid "LETS PAY TO GO TO A BAR" ordeals. Biggest waste of money I could think of. Apparently my girlfriends group use to do that all the time, but now they got old so they want something "low key". Win for me.

My Czech is worse than my Slovak, but I got something about drinking beer in that I might have to ask my wife.

As for us, still in the planning phase--we might got to the Portland Winterhawks game and skate with some of the players, we might stay home--although I kinda want to leave a parting shot to our old apartments in terms of a very loud airhorn.

Pretty sure I know people who do that every year.... I guess if I went with a group and I knew I had a way to get home safely it might not be so bad.... but anywhere I go I am my own ride home so I gotta hold back on the drinks and whatnot.... which makes paying for New Years at a bar pretty dumb.

I usually just crash at the party I go to. But yeah, I'm always my own ride, so I have to leave in the morning. Last year I crashed until 7:30... the year before I left on my own accord at about 4 in the morning. Year before that I stayed home. Before that it gets fuzzy.
