Let's assume the Bears are moving off of Flus at the end of this season. We know there will be a new HC for the Jets and Saints. That's at least three openings and there certainly will be others. Chicago is easily the best of those three jobs. Across the league, what other HC jobs do you see being available? Jags? Cowboys? Pats? Other? Where would Chicago rank in terms of desirability for quality HC candidates?

If Flus were to be ejected, I think the Bears will be the most attractive job because the Bears...
  • have a young Caleb Williams who potentially could be great
  • have several quality weapons in place on offense (DJ, Kmet, Odunze)
  • while not dominant, have a solid D
  • have a ton of draft capital in the 2025 draft
  • are in good position with the salary cap
  • admittedly have a bottom tier OL but that could be addressed through the draft with said draft capital and FA
Obviously, the worst aspect of working for the Bears is working for the McCaskey family. Is Chicago a desirable job next year?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
There's been some smoke already by Breer and Allbright hinting that Ben Johnson REALLY wants the Bears job.

I'd say Johnson is the heavy favorite if Flus gets launched, despite what some of the fans with Bears-induced PTSD have been saying.

Other teams I'd say may be coachless that you didn't mention:
  • Cowboys
  • Giants
  • Eagles
  • Browns
  • Bengals
Any other firing would be fairly surprising to me, but I do expect at least one surprising one.

Generally, I'd say the Cowboys, Eagles, and Bengals should be appealing if they're looking.
