NFL Sunday Ticket Coming To PlayStation 3 - News - www.GameInformer.com

With Xbox Live's partnership with ESPN well in place, Sony today responded with a big move of its own: DirecTV's popular NFL Sunday Ticket subscription service is coming to PlayStation 3.

This wildly successful subscription package allows hardcore football fans to watch every single NFL game of the season. The games are broadcast in full HD, and you also get access to the popular Red Zone Channel, which shows cuts from game to game to give you live looks at crucial moments in each match-up. The biggest draw is that the Ticket allows you to see games that take place outside of your regional broadcast area, a boon for fans living in cities away from their home teams and fantasy football players who want to keep tabs on their rosters.

Why is this big news? Currently, you had to be a subscriber to DirecTV to access the full subscription service. Now, through PlayStation 3, fans can pay the $339.95 fee and access the full range of programming – even if you use a competing cable or satellite TV provider like Comcast or Dish Network.

Existing DirecTV customers can use their PS3 as an extra receiver for Sunday Ticket (assuming you already paid for the $339.95 service) for an additional fee of $50.

Even dumb Packers fans are smart enough to be excited about this.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
:fap:

If I didn't already luck into getting half the games on TV around here anyway. Usually I only get the 2 games against Detroit and the national games. This year I get:

September 25th: FudgePackers at Bears - 4:15 FOX
Monday October 10th: Bears at Lions - 8:30 ESPN
Sunday October 16th: Viqueens at Bears - 8:20 NBC
Monday November 7th: Bears at Eagles - 8:30 ESPN
Sunday November 13th: Lions at Bears - 1:00PM FOX
Sunday November 27th: Bears at Raiders - 4:05 FOX
Sunday December 11th: Bears at Broncos - 4:05 FOX
Sunday December 25th: Bears at Packers - 8:20 NBC

Plus random games on CBS/FOX if the Lions/Browns/Bengals are blacked out or on MNF/SNF.

Toledo is a good area to be a Chicago sports fan oddly enough. With Chicago teams usually being the jewel of the Midwest Market for National TV Broadcasting...

Yeah I've been meaning to call Directv for a while. I need to threaten to leave to see what kind of deal I can get from them because the price is getting ridiculous again.

I wonder if I can flip this with my lil brother & come out cheaper than the 340?

I already have DirectTV but no Sunday Ticket. Lets say he & I split the cost. I get Sunday Ticket through DirectTV...he then gets Sunday Ticket through his PS3 (through my account) by us paying that extra 50 dollars to make 'my PS3' an extra receiver.

Man if we can do that that double WIN!!! Great move Sony.
