NFL Sunday Ticket Coming To PlayStation 3 - News - www.GameInformer.com
With Xbox Live's partnership with ESPN well in place, Sony today responded with a big move of its own: DirecTV's popular NFL Sunday Ticket subscription service is coming to PlayStation 3.
This wildly successful subscription package allows hardcore football fans to watch every single NFL game of the season. The games are broadcast in full HD, and you also get access to the popular Red Zone Channel, which shows cuts from game to game to give you live looks at crucial moments in each match-up. The biggest draw is that the Ticket allows you to see games that take place outside of your regional broadcast area, a boon for fans living in cities away from their home teams and fantasy football players who want to keep tabs on their rosters.
Why is this big news? Currently, you had to be a subscriber to DirecTV to access the full subscription service. Now, through PlayStation 3, fans can pay the $339.95 fee and access the full range of programming – even if you use a competing cable or satellite TV provider like Comcast or Dish Network.
Existing DirecTV customers can use their PS3 as an extra receiver for Sunday Ticket (assuming you already paid for the $339.95 service) for an additional fee of $50.
