NHL 12: What would you like to see?

These are just some ideas that pople would like to see, what would you guys like to see?

i think it would be a great idea if they put in the teams from the ncaa. last year they changed the atmosphere i believe. you cant get a better atmosphere than a college hockey game in minnesota, wisconsin, or north dakota. i know you cant add the names but i think it would still be awesome since theres not really any college teams in missouri. also the ushl would be a good addition, i went to a lancers game and it really made me feel like *.louis is taking the blues for granted. every one was just so into the game, plus you could probably interest people in omaha and the other cities those teams play in your game more, because they dont have any big professional sports there. finally, earlier today I lost a game 0-2 when i out shot them 48-6. i shouldnt have lost that game. please make the shots to goals ratios more realistic!

And i also vote for new announcers too.

oh yea i almost forgot. please make it to where when you create a team, you can type it in, because they never say the city any way and i could really care less if they could say my teams name at all. please add more logos too. the ones you have now just flat out suck.

- give the starting goalies their actrual helmet logo and design so it makes the game feel more realistic
- put some even cooler moves in so the game feels more real
- make the draft day better where you can have more options for scouting players
- make franchise mode more realistic by having the chance to control the stadium, seats, prices, vendors and attractions, also make it so you can add things to your arena at the end of the year and have the total amount of income made based on your teams performance
- in be a pro mode have a short clip of getting drafted, putting shaking hands- putting on the jersey and cap and photo, reaching a hockey milestone, getting inducted into the hall of fame and so on
- i think it would be really cool having the skills competition in the all star game and choose the players in the all star game based on their play not skill
- allow the player in be a pro to interact with his coach and GM so he can get promoted if he thinks he is doing well or get traded
- having the NHL Winter Classic would be great for the game because it would offer a change in scenery for the game and choose teams to play by the cities that have a proffesional baseball team or a big outdoor stadium
- give the BE A GM mode more control by being able to hire or fire your coaching staff, talk with your players and be able to control your AHL team more

I would like to see more done with the goalies in terms of styles. Guys like Tim Thomas should have a different style than guys like Martin Brodeur or Marc-Andre Fleury. So if you are a butterfly goalie you should play like one, and if you are a standup goalie you should not play like a butterfly goalie. I would also like to more than 2 goalie masks to choose from, and it would be cool to have Bauer(Itech), Reebok and the Sportsmask mage mask that Thomas uses in the game rather than just the 2 Bauer masks.

I think that you should be able to have a choice of having "warm-ups" before the game.There should also be the correct amount of referees. :mrgreen:YOu should also be able to totally customize your BAP character with elbow pads, shin pads, if you visor is tilted up, ect....

1. Goalies Goalies Goalies - how about goalies that don't use canned animations (or only a few?) have them actually control their body parts in real time like a real goalie?

2. Teammate collisions, net collisions, ref and goalie collisions. also, collisions when you run into someone without press the stick to "hit" them

3. A button to avoid touching the puck - purpose: when you are in the zone trying to avoid an offside (delayed offside) and you want to skate out, but your dumb guy touches the puck because he is close to it!!

4. a way for defense to clear pucks off the glass more readily - this is a major component of D in the NHL yet its hardly in the game! in addition, the offensive team needs the capability to jam their body against the board to attempt to keep the puck in the zone!

5. another huge one - jostling for position in front of the net. this needs to be interactive and fun, not just pressing a button to tie someone up. not sure how to implement this, any ideas anyone?

6. skating physics overhaul - just make it feel better and be more physics based. same goes for the other components of the physics, continue on the 3 year plan.

7. ability to play coop in ALL game modes on XBox Live! people are SCREAMING for this, make it happen EA!!

8. when playing versus, match up (I guess you would have to detect the number of active controllers beforehand)

9. If we have 2 guys on my couch playing vs, we want to go up against another opponent that has 2 guys - it just makes sense. it also stinks being one person and going up against a 2, 3, 4 or more player team on versus!

10. spectator mode for eashl. let us actually sit in the pressbox and watch the game from there. we can move around , see our other teammates etc. this would be awesome.

12. love the eashl practice - continue to enhance it by adding options and modes, for example, one with tons of pucks on the ice ala real life.

13. PRE GAME WARMUP - see the above "tons of pucks" only make this for all game modes incl. eashl. loud music, players w/o helmets, this would be a huge pump up!

14. presentation: more in-game stats, new announcers, a TV style presentation (lisence CBC, versus, NBC or something - or even better, a couple, then make CBC for Canada and NBC for US games.. I am excited just thinking about this possibility.

re: announcers - we need new ones!! keep throne and clement as options, but make the new ones the default!! - this is a great way around if they have a contract w/ EA!!) btw, make sure they pronouce names properly

15. player rating overhaul - why have a 0-100 range when all players are at least in the mid 60s?? pointless. reclassify from 0-100, or do something else to make this make sense. ultimate goal, more player seperation. NHL 11 is close, but scrubs can still pull off too many dekes too easily.

16. Intimidation: good idea, but we need a visual to see who is intimidated! right now its all placebo! give the option to disable this. one idea I read, is to make the circle under the intimidated player glow red, or perhaps make their name glow red (pulsate slowly)

17. New cup celebration. show all player stats like 2004. allow us to skate w/ the cup and pump it up and down with a button press, crowd cheers louder as you do it. allow us to pass the cup to the next player and repeat.

18. NHL awards ceremony. not sure how to pull this off but something could be done.

19. keep going with the banner idea for EASHL - give out more awards, ie: if a player scores 5 goals, in the next game, present him with a trophy in a small on ice ceremony. then players can collect these awards in their "trophy case" for eashl!

20. 2k style fighting engine

21. User Controlled Cutscenes. yes, that's right. you actually get to control your player during a cutscence. ie: skate slowly towards the bench.. each button could do an action like wipe ice off your stick, pointing at another player etc.. this would solve the 'cutscenes get stale after a few games" problem and also be a first (afaik) for sports games! the button actions would work like custom celebrations.

22. fully customizable controls.

THEY NEED LET USERS TURN DOWN THE AMOUNT OF GAMES IN A SEASON IN FRANCHISE MODE.

I only play "Be a GM mode," I like to build my team, progress players, make trades, ect... I do not like simming the games I like to play the games. Well my only option is to take on an 82 game season... I probably only get through 2-3 seasons before the next game comes out... bullshit.

Give me the option to play like 20-30 game seasons so I can progress faster in the same amount of game time.

As much of an improvement they made on face-offs, it could still be better.

Dumping the puck should be a more necessary strategy...

I don't really like the "intimidation" suggestion.

That was in one of the older 2k games (when 2k was actually better than EA at hockey) and it was awful. The intimidated players were WAY too affected by it.

The draft needs to be completely reworked in Be a GM mode.

Also the player ratings. Like the one guy said, why have a scale to 100 if 75% the players are 70-79

Turn around slap shots are a big problem. No one even attempts slap shot when they are skating with the backhand facing the net. When they do its a weak shot but in NHL 11 it is BS effective.

I'd like to see it back on the PC. :/ Not buying a console just to play a hockey video game.
