Sure sounds like the cap will go up to 64 mil, according to Mckenzie.

Every bit helps the Hawks be able to sign/trade for a #2 center and a bruiser defenseman, which it's anybody's guess if Stan will actually bring one in.

Not at all. I was considering it, but it affects the entire league.

Imagine if you're Dale Tallon and have to spend approximately 30 mil in cap space in order to meet the floor. I wonder if he'll be looking at snagging a few players with a higher cap hit than salary.

I don't know much about the NHL salary cap and the Hawks contract situations so pardon my ignorance on that part.

It's actually almost there. I want to say I remember a red wing payroll in the mid seventies back then.

The Hawks have 16 players signed for next year and if the estimation is correct, they'll have almost 10 mil to fill out the roster (6 or 7 players needed) assuming Huet is not bought out.
