Hmm. Didn't really see this coming, but then again, the Hawks do have a ton of new defensive prospects in the pipeline now. I thought Beaudin looked fairly decent the few times he was up, but I hadn't followed him in Rockford. Guess he was the odd man out.

Well, maybe. He was 23. It's kind of ironic considering we just traded Barrett for another 23 year old d-man.

I don't mind these moves, but I do think there is a little more to them than Davidson simply trading any player Bowman acquired, just because. There has to be more logic than that, I hope there is anyway.

Basically did Beaudin a favor, we don't know? he could have been quietly asking to be moved, and the Hawks knew he wasn't in their plans. Gotta figure with the bad look (Rocky meltdown and scandal)the past few seasons goodwill of moving a player with demands goes further in perception among NHL teams and players. Montreal seemed logical since he played Jr in the Q

Beaudin was traded to his hometown Canadiens and Barratt to his hometown Flyers during three minor moves by the Hawks on Wednesday.
