One of the rumors, that I believe, about Kurt's death is that he wanted to take the sound of Nirvana to resemble more of the Meat Puppets. Courtney Love wasn't a fan of that and had him killed.

Kurt was obsessed with the latest Meat Puppets album and played the same three songs off the album on his guitar forty-seven times a day. Six months of that...Courtney snapped and had him killed.
