Mets up 3-1 on Nats. Hope they hold on and Cubs can get a .5 game.

...so I googled the Cards score earlier ..braced myself....and saw Giants up 4-2, then I did some work drove to the gas station and heard Cards lost. I figured it was like 5-2 or something. Got home turned on Sports Center and saw the highlights...and discovered Cards had taken the lead late... as usual...then saw Pillars home run late and the final out. Whew. Geez. These friggin Cards. It was nice to see their pitching getting beat up a bit.

Next 10 vs padres, pirates, reds.

8-2 prob required to make the last 7 vs STL meaningful for the division (if we can be within 2-3 in loss column heading into that 4 game series anything is possible)

7-3 prob needed to keep a small wild card cushion (az basically finishes last 3 weeks with crap teams entire way and they're hot)

All that said; the team is trending in the wrong direction quickly and losing almost a player per day to injury. Hopefully we take 3-4 from sd and get some confidence heading home

Seems to be a trend with this team. They fell apart last year towards the end and are doing the same thing this season.

Cubs will be fine everybody!

It's kind of amusing watching Maddon go down in flames. I said in 2016 his poor managing was bailed out by pure talent. Poor use of the pitching was rampant in those playoffs. Theo got complacent aswell, we need free agent signings instead of developing guys, which is what got us to the dance. And then on top of that he decided to hang on to the guys that clearly weren't improving upon call up. RUSSELL, Happ, Schwarber, Almora, to name a few. If it wasn't for acquiring Nick for nothing this team would already be sunk. Instead we are literally clawing for a wild card game.
