I'm in the camp that the Bulls shouldn't have moved Taj or Asik in a trade. While I know many of us here really want an upgrade at the two, the Bulls absolutely have to have quality backing up Noah and Boozer both now and in the long term. It's also worth noting that this doesn't mean they won't add a guard between now and the playoffs. Buyouts will happen, and apparently the Bulls think someone who can help them will become available.

Word on the Mayo trade is that it is not happening. The teams missed the deadline.

I think the Celtics will have some problems with the trade they made. They better not see Orlando again in the playoffs...

boston definitely made the wrong move. shaq is big but he's not good enough to guard the good bigs out there.

I'm fine with us not making a deal. I'm hoping we can upgrade at sg in the summer though. I think the Celtics downgraded though,I'm curious to see how they'll use Jeff Green.

New report on the deal, or lack thereof.

Memphis backed out at the last minute. So those who wanted Mayo the Bulls should consider that it would have probably cost more than Asik and a pick.

I would have made a move by trading a 1st round for say Lee...but not much else beyond that.

Thats over-valuing a role player.

I agree, but he is a pretty good starting level SG who has another year after this on a really cheap contract. Two really late first round picks may not have a whole lot of value to them (though that seems odd since they're the moneyball team).

wow. the celtics totally made a deal for the future. Glen davis just became their second best big man. I'm pretty sure green is going to be the 6th man as sf/pf? Will we be seeing more of pierce at the 2 and allen at the 1?

The Bulls were reported to have offered two firsts for Lee and the Rockets said no.

Thats what I was hoping the Bulls would do. Glad they didn't but sucks the Rockets didn't except it.I'm not really disappointed in it though,no biggie. Theres probably a team that will have a sg maybe they would like to trade during the summer and might want some picks(I mean cmon we have 3 lol)

I'm not concerned about it either. I don't think Lee would have been the difference between us and a championship, and I'm fine with Brewer as the starter (and he really is in all but name for those complaining about Bogans).

Yeah when you look at the value of the 1sts, there really wasnt much value at all. I wouldnt have minded both of them for Lee. He's young, contract doesnt hurt and has multi-dimensions to his game. Would have been a nice piece to grow with this already young team. I would have given up Taj for Mayo, even with Boozers proness to injury. You can replace a Taj Gibson. Oh well. I would have liked for us to make a move now because i think we have a better chance of winning a championship now than the future. I think FAs would rather be in Miami with the big 3, they will only get better with the MLE and vet mins.

I think those two firsts are probably enough to get the pick of the SGs in this years draft, so if the Bulls had decided that they didn't want to disrupt the rotation and only picks were on offer, then it makes sense to stand firm on that and just wait it out.

I'm just nervous that rookies might be the only way to improve and that getting immediate help from a rookie is hit and miss, once those picks are turned into player(s) they'll be hard to trade, and there might be no way to sign players over the cap like you can now with the MLE, depends what the new CBA brings.

I'm glad the Bulls decided to stand pat rather than overpay for a player. They still have the Buyout and 2 first round picks to work with and they could do something over the summer, but let's use the remainder of this season to see where the Bulls stand with all of their starters healthy (unless we get a really good deal through a buyout).

The Bulls are going to have their hands full working Noah back into the mix for a few games. Throwing another new player in their would just complicate things even more.
