As article after article continues to pop up over the internet about speculation on off-season happenings, one thing specifically can be determined: The future of Cristobal Huet. After finishing the second of a four-year, $22.45 million dollar contract, Huet has been more successful at being a hindrance to the salary cap than to opposing forwards.

I think Huey gets bought out...Bowman might get a taker if he packages him with a valuable piece, but I just don't see it. The valuable piece will be necessary for this organization's future or be better valued if traded independently. So, the organization, in attempt to be "respectable, honorable" will not AHL him nor give him a one-way ticket to Europe, and will buy out his contract.

Cap hit of a buyout would be under 2mil for the next 4 years.

Am I nuts?

Well, he could be; however, I think Steeger won't be enough of a sweetener. Now you're talking almost 9mil in bloated contracts.

From what I hear Beach is not ready to play in the NHL every day (via a PSD guy who goes to every Icehogs game)

And we all know Skille is too awful defensively to play on the fourth line.

So get those ideas out of your heads.

He's going to get his chance to make it.

Hawks front office will determine that not some dude that works for the IceHogs.

Beach barely played for the IceHogs. So, he has no valid opinion.

Well couple that with the fact that he's still a kid and has had discipline issues.

I agree he will get a chance in camp, but I really doubt he will break with the team. I expect him to spend a year maturing in Rockford.
