When you think championship caliber NBA teams what are the first team names you think of? For mist people outside of the Chicago area the Bulls are usually way down on the list.

They usually make excuses like “they have not been through the playoff wars.” Even though the Bulls have made the playoffs the last two years and have been competitive in both series. Another thing they say is “the Bulls do not have enough fire power to beat the Miami’s and Boston’s of the world.” This is just another asinine point because the Bulls match up well against both teams. (3-0 against Miami and 1-2 against Boston all three games were early in the season.) Last but not least my favorite excuse “you can’t win if your best player is a point guard.”

How dumb is that? How can someone dismiss a teams championship chances because the best player on the team plays a certain position? How about the fact that player is the best at the position and also one of the top five players in the league? And he just maybe voted the MVP. No, I am not talking about Steve Nash or Allen Iverson.

Before Michael Jordan people would say you could not win a championship without a dominant big man. Jordan proceeded to win with Bill Cartwright and Luc Longley. Can somebody expound on the Hall of Fame Credentials of both players? I will wait…

You see statements like that lack foresight. In sports there are no definites. You can not make statements like that without them evidentially getting proven wrong. No one can predict how a great player can impose his will to win on a team and push them to higher highs than they could never imagine.

People who say you can't win if your best player is your point guard, are people I stop talking to about basketball, because they don't know shit about it.

The 80's Lakers and Bad boy Pistons were led by their PG being their best player, magic and Zeke. One could argue the best player on that 2004 Pistons team was Chauncey Billups and the 2006 Heat was Wade (he played majority of the season at PG that year.)

That's why I don't talk to idiots.
