Trade for Iguodala and Brand?

Would the Bulls welcome back Elton Brand? I was very little when Brand was on the Bulls, so I don't know the whole story on why he was traded.

Some on here want to acquire Andre Iguodala. I doubt the 76ers want Korver back, but for kicks, I played a trade here that may worthwhile for both teams.

NBA Trade Machine - ESPN

Bulls get: Brand and Iguodala
76ers get: Korver, Brewer, Boozer, Bogans and Asik.

The Bulls don't need help up front, they need a better back court mate for Rose.

Brand was traded for Tyson Chandler in the 2001 NBA Draft so Krause could secure drafting Eddy Curry because Krause thought Curry would be the next big dominant center. He thought Chandler would be a nice center piece as well and basically Krause envisioned his own Olajuwon-Sampson duo. The Clippers were going to take Curry with the 2nd pick in that draft, so thats why the trade occurred. To me that deal is one of the worst in our franchise history. While Brand hasn't been HOF material or anything, he was a productive player and was a 20/10 guy at the time (Though on a terrible team).

As far as the trade those are two heavy contracts in Brand and Iguodala. Iguodala is basically a more explosive Deng who doesn't play as good defense. I also just feel nobody is going to want Boozer at this point.

Well I doubt it would ever happen, but I'd do it. At this point, Brand and Boozer and pretty much at the same level overall (what with Boozer's lack of defense evening out whatever offensive production he brings and Brand being a halfway decent two way player). As I've said before, I'll take Iggy as our SG any day because as far as trade scenarios go, he's probably the best player we'd get and even this is a pipe dream.

Which is why I proposed acquiring Iguodala.

Did you even read my post?

Blatantly dismissing the possibility of getting Dwight Howard as a pipedream does ignore the fact that if Howard refuses to sign that extension for much longer, that will put Otis Smith in a very Denver/Carmelo-esque situation.

Orlando better get something in return for Dwight's departure or it will be nearly as devastating as the impact on the Cavs when LeBron left Cleveland. Obviously, the Lakers look like they have a lot to offer except that Bynum is apparently "off the table" and Kobe Bryant is still very publicly saying 'Pau is my no. 2.'

I would never say never. Another thing that also looks half-way plausible is a sign-and-trade with Dallas.

Scottie is an upgrade behind Deng..can still play limited minutes easily and provide a little of everything.

I wouldn't do that trade. We give up too much size. And our best shooter in korver. Although id love to get iggy.

iggy + brand on this team would not have beaten the Heat. That's the barometer, guys...if it doesn't beat them, don't blow up the team for it.

The Bulls just need a bench scorer who can close out games. Someone who can beat guys off the dribble and that Derrick Rose will trust enough to let him do his thing down the stretch. Defensively the Bulls could can beat Miami. So there is no need to make these big trades that everyone is throwing out there.

Obviously getting stars alone doesn't necessarily guarantee you a championship. But it will increase your chances dramatically if it is in the right deal.

The last teams that have won championships have all had at least one superstars and at least two other All-star caliber players. The Bulls are sort of in that boat except Boozer is falling off, Deng can't create much offense for himself, and Noah is not a great offensive player either.
