Minor League Reporters Needed
miCubs is looking for Cubs minor league reporters for the upcoming season. Duties include but are not limited to:
* Writing a game recap every weekday, and conducting one podcast interview per week with a player, coach, media member, or someone of the like from the team (We will discuss needed recording equipment if applicable).
* The selected applicants will also need to report the stats and highlights of the top players and prospects each night for his or her specific team.
* Applicants also willing to write occasional feature articles will be given heavier consideration.
The game recap will include a game summary of a minimum 1 to 2 paragraphs. If the candidate cannot attend a particular game, necessary information can be easily obtained from the team’s website or milb.com.
Should the candidate be local to one of the minor league teams, media access with the ability to provide and incorporate quotes from players and coaches in game recaps would be ideal and encouraged for all weekday games.
This part-time position is UNPAID but will provide chosen applicants with great writing and interviewing experience.
Depending upon commitment and performance, applicants may have the opportunity to expand their role on miCubs.com, including the chance to be heard on miCubs podcasts.
A beat reporter will be needed for the following teams:
Triple-A Iowa Cubs
Double-A Tennessee Smokies
Advanced-A Daytona Cubs
Class-A Peoria Chiefs
Short Season Boise Hawks
If interested, please send resume, a writing sample and demo MP3 to bbedo@miCubs.com.
