Great another 4th line option for King to consider , trade makes no sense what so ever, a 3rd or 4th round choice would have been better . I know Nylander didn't impress but he wasn't even given a chance this year ? The kid spent a full year recovering from his injury at least give him a call up , another wasted #1 pick as we traded a pretty good young D to get him . I have no faith in this organization any longer the young talent is not developing at the pace this organization needs to in order to take advantage of whatever time Toews and Kane have , i don't think they will be wearing the Indian head much longer .

What a waste of talent.....although it will be interesting to see what he does in Pittsburgh. Should he suddenly blossom into an NHL player, it would speak volumes about about the possibility of substandard coaching not only here but in Buffalo as well.

My guess is that he just doesn't care to invest the work to get to where he needs to be and will be a bust, yet again.

I don't even care who we got back in this trade, I'm just glad Nylander is gone. Yet another of many idiotic Bowman blunders. Would much rather have Joker, if only to see him develop.

Not necessarily, this will be his last chance in Pitts, Nylander's laziness was his downfall not the coaching. He may now decide to actually do something about his pathetic career knowing the end of the road is staring at him in the face.
Either way he won't be missed

Don't let the door hit ya.... Stupid Blowman trade to pick up the scrub in the first place.
That was when he was in his "Former First Rounders" phase....he had a "Hobey Baker Winner" phase, a "Former Cup Hawks" phase, then that one, and finally a "Brothers" phase.

Move actually made prefect sense:

I heard that Malkin is about to come back and Lafferty would be exposed to waivers, so They trade him for a guy already in the A and don't lose a player for nothing.

Meanwhile, If Nylander truly gave himself a heart transplant, he wouldn't have lolligagged it in the preseason. He played like he didn't want to be here and conversely, Strome, who is guilty bof coasting himself, played the preseason like he wanted to be on the roster.

Nylander did it to himself. Whatever talent he had, he never brought it to bear with any regularity. He was a modern day Karpotszev.

I’m all for trading for plugs right now.

Wright and Savoie are going to be stars. Either blow it up for one of them or get rid of everyone in the off season and rebuild around Bedard or the Russian kid who are both special talents next year.
