Just saw this and was wondering how many of these typeof players have they signed or claimed this off season. .seems like quite a few

anyone know if these guys can be legit arms or just minor league depth

The Cardinals used to do this all of the time, especially with starters. The Cubs are trying IMO to find that guy(s) who can help the team in can capacity. Just look how many chances they took on guys last year in the pen. Richard and Cahill actually worked out for the better.
