My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
It's almost impossible to fill all the teams holes in one off season but I think the narrative this year will be around helping Trubisky.

Free Agency

Release

QB Mike Glennon
TE Dion Sims
WR Markus Wheaton
LB Jerrel Freeman
CB Marcus Cooper

New Contracts

CB Kyle Fuller to 4 years 44 million/15.5 guaranteed
CB Prince Amukamara 3 years 17 million/10 guaranteed
P Pat O'Donnel to 4 years 12 million/5 guaranteed
WR Cameron Meredith to 1 year 3 million
RB Benny Cunningham to 1 year 1 million
LB Lamarr Houston 2 years 8 million/4 guaranteed
LB Christian Jones 2 years 6.5 million/4 guaranteed
DE Mitch Unrein 2 years 4 million/2 guaranteed
QB Mark Sanchez to 1 year 1 million
TE Daniel Brown to 900k

Bears sign WR Demaryius Thomas to 3 years 33 million/20 guaranteed

Thomas will be 31 years old next season but he's still looking good and hasn't missed a game since 2011. Thomas is a capable veteran that runs good routes with some speed expect to see him get the same contract as DeSaun Jackson if Broncos decline his option.

i

Bears sign WR Taylor Gabriel to 4 years 20 million/10 guaranteed

If Chiefs receiver Albert Wilson decides to stay in KC Matt Nagy will take a hard look at Gabriel who's almost an identical clone to Wilson and regarded as one of the fastest receivers in the NFL currently.

Bears sign OLB Jeremiah Attaochu to 1 year 2 million

25 year old Jeremiah Attaochu had 6 sacks in 2015 and looked like he could develop into a productive pass rushers but since then has battled with injuries, give Jeremiah Attaochu a one year prove it deal and see how things work out.

i

Bears sign TE Troy Niklas to 1 year 1.5 million

Niklas is Packers OLB Clay Matthews cousin and comes from a strong NFL bloodline of players he has battled with injuries but appears to be getting healthy and would come cheap.

Bears sign K Dustin Hopkins to 3 years 12 million

The kicker position has been embarrassing for the last two seasons since getting rid of Robbie Gould and for some reason keeping Connor Barth for two seasons. Pace needs to redeem himself this season and take a serious looks at the kickers in this free agency.

Draft

1[8] G Quenton Nelson [Notre Dame] 6'5 330lbs

Kyle Long & Josh Sitton will both be in the 30's next season and Kyle Long's has struggled with injuries for a few years now and it makes me question how long he has left if Bears keep letting him play hurt.

*Trade: Buffalo Bills trade 2[53] & 3[95] for Bears 2[39] & 6th round pick.

2[53] WR Equanimeous St. Brown [Notre Dame] 6'4 205lbs

His size and speed make him a mismatch for defenses. Brown will probably end up being the fourth receiver taken after Ridley, Sutton, and Kirk and Bears will probably pull the trigger on one early depending on how free agency goes.

3[95] OT Brian O'Neil [Pittsburgh] 6'6 305lbs

O'Neil is a one year starter at offensive tackle he was a tight end that red shirted for a year and gains a bunch of weight but he did well enough to get noticed for the media. He is going to be a project at tackle but Bears have the right staff on board to make a move like this work.

4. OLB Davin Bellamy [Georgia] 6'5 240lbs

Hailing from the same school as Leonard Floyd is Davin Bellamy, Pace has found some mid round gems maybe he can find a few more.

4. DT Nathan Shepherd [Fort Hays] 6'5 300lbs

Eddie Goldman & Akiem Hicks took a lot of snap last season it would be a good idea to bring in depth to take some of the load of for them.

5. WR Byron Pringle [Kansas State] 6'2 205lbs

K State's kick returner he'd make an impact on special teams.

7. ILB Nyles Morgan [Notre Dame] 6'1" 245lbs

Dude this is really bad. The Bears have no business going after a 31-year old WR. That's a move for a team that's a WR away from competing. The Bears should be building an offense that doesn't have to change multiple times in Mitch's next 4 years on his rookie contract. And with a 30 year old top WR, the Bears would be going for a new top WR within 2 seasons.

Gabriel at 5'8, 165lbs is IN NO WAY an "identical clone" of 5'9", 200 lbs Albert Wilson who is built like a RB. Gabriel is closer to Tarik Cohen than he is to Wilson.

The WRs you drafted are pretty meh. And none of the 4 WRs you add are good fits for Nagy's offense, except maybe Gabriel who would likely take snaps away from Cohen based on similar skill sets, even though 1 is a RB.

You put Josh Sitton on the bench and are paying him 8 million dollars. O'Neill is NOT a 1-year starter. He started 37 straight games. This is the first year he started on the left side, but the 3rd year he's started at tackle for Pitt. You're not helping the defense at all (I understand you focused on the offense), so the best case scenario is a similar D to last year, unless Floyd plays 16 and makes a monumental difference.
