The last 3 minutes of the season finale was beautiful. Anytime you pair that song with visuals of Chicago, it's a cheat code for people who love Chicago. It ends so perfectly that it almost makes me not even want to watch this season and just pretend like they went on to win a Super Bowl.

It was so perfect that i was scared they were going to show tar stain Travis Bagent and ruin the whole vibe. Hats off to HBO. It wasn't the best season 1-5 but a very strong finish!

Things I found interesting.

1. Thought people said they dont show cuts.

2. Interesting that they intended to keep Rypien over Reed but then the Vikes signed Rypien.

3. Also interesting that pretty much all the coaches were gung ho about Velus and that teams were calling about him.

4. Poles having to leave the room because he was crying and then come back to tell Colbert he was cut was pretty emotional.

5. Bagent seemed to really solidfy himself as the No 2 so much so that even Rypien praised him.

6. The Flus bee shit was unexpected.

7. The outro was epic and has me ready for this shit to pop off.

Gonna try to gif that.. just have to wait a bit.

Flus glancing over with the raybans on
Cole picking up his helmet..(My Solid guess)
Side shot of Caleb side eyeing the field
Keenan Allen next to QB1 with a smile
then Jaylon / then Rome / then Dj / then Owens
Then Flus
dead pan to Caleb with his back turned..and then his helmet talk..

30 second gif ...Caleb part is 14 seconds alone.

I need to get that fucking song onto the gif or else this shit wont work..

Since it's the Bears; the season was interesting and a must watch for most

However.....it was probably one of the most edited, non drama, disney/leave it to beaver, no real excitement or attachment seasons in the history of the show........probably exactly the way the mccaskys wanted it

Everyone came across as extremely likeable and nice......which is great but for this type of show; not overly entertaining if you're not a Bear fan.

And I'm pretty sure each episode ended 5-12 minutes before the hour.....thus cutting a ton of material.
It’s ok. In a sea of chaos and deranged egotistical maniacs, I’m down with our Bears being down to earth, family friendly dudes.

Americas team.

Ryan Poles is officially a fucking legend off of these last two Hard Knocks episodes. If this team wins a championship he is getting a statue built somewhere one day.

Hats off to George for hiring him and I'm positive that every player in the NFL is ready to run through walls for a guy that shows that level of genuine care for his players.

I thought it was a great episode. I need to go back and watch the ending; I liked the song but wasn't as jazzed about the overall ending as others, but honestly towards the end I was pretty mentally exhausted from a long day so I need to go back and watch it. Echoing what others have already posted, there were a lot of other things to like about this episode that have already been listed above.

If I had some small critiques, I have two. I wasn't entirely thrilled with a couple of small instances when the coaches weren't entirely honest about a couple of things. RB Chad Morton telling Velus "We already know you can play receiver" was one. I appreciate him wanting to turn the position change and beating his arms and body are going to take into a positive, but be real man; everyone knows that V12 wasn't making this roster as a receiver. The other moment I had questions was when special teams coach Richard Hightower enthusiastically mentioned that he can return punts or kicks. Maybe he's going off his body of previous work in previous seasons, but if anything this pre-season seemed to suggest that he perhaps wasn't suited for those roles. He almost seemed to be joining in on the coaching enthusiasm because everyone else was. I admit these are subjective interpretations of what I saw and that I could be wrong.

You and I have stated on this forum many times that he should be used like Patterson. They fucked him right off the bat by trying to make him a punt returner. He’s not comfortable there!

Get the ball in his hands. His size, speed combination translates to the NFL. He scored the first time he touched the ball on offense his rookie season.

Now they’re using him as a gunner. I think we know who was a fantastic gunner in his time here.

I won’t be shocked as the season wears on if he gets significant carries.

Velus is an excellent kick returner. Punts, no way!

Can't teach speed and he has good size for that speed. If he was cut, he was definitely getting picked up
What's his value? If teams kick the ball out of the back of the end zone on every play his value is a fourth RB gimmick.

For a team that cares so much about a running backs ability to block (Roschon Johnson) how suddenly is Velus Jones even remotely qualified to block in the passing game?

Suddenly he's a gunner in the punt coverage unit?

Last night as a concentrated effort by your Chicago Bears to justify Velus Jones Jr remaining on the roster at all.

It was the epitome of football propaganda. I'm willing to bet no one called for a trade because if they did they should have put that conversation into the episode instead of just dropping some rumor that someone tried to trade for him.

Velus Jones Jr was the first guy everyone was going to cut and now he's some mythological player who can do all these great things to help the team or had teams clamoring over him in the trade market?

I call bullshit.

He was only going to be cut in your own mind.

It was pretty obvious he was sticking as the kick returner and its disadvantageous to kick the ball out of the back of the endzone for the kicking team. Thats the whole point of the change

I’d rather not find out one of them was a weird fish fucker or something and then have to root for them this season. 🤷‍♂️

It's not though. If you'd been paying attention to any of the reporting on this you'd realize that teams are already more than willing to kick it out of the back of the end zone.

And I want you to ask yourself logically, if his trade value is so high right now...... What's more valuable to the Chicago Bears right now, retaining Velus Jones or using his trade value and a draft pick to improve the defensive line depth?

The Bears desperately need better talent on the defensive line.

I hate velus as much as anyone on here but wasn't he playing gunner last year too, and was pretty good at it?

If he can be a plus special teamer he has value. What do you expect the 6th WR on a team with 2 starting TE's and 3 #1 WR's to do? Get 1 target every game max?

Calm down, they prob got offered a 6th at best.

If it was anything of value Poles would likely have taken it(a 4th).

Or maybe they just made up a trade for the hard knocks cameras to make it seem like poles isnt the only one obsessed with velus.

Watching Odunze practice releases at field level against Jaylon Johnson was fantastic. Anyone that doubts Odunze’s speed and agility should take a close look at those reps.

Im actually kinda concerned after watching that. Maybe jaylon got paid and fell of? Whats it say about our defense when the lockdown corner cant cover a slow TE3?
