Amazon Countdown to Black Friday
Okay, this is one of my favorite parts of Black Friday. Amazon's Countdown to Black Friday sales have officially begun. Each day, Amazon will update its Lightning Deals page with up to the minute deals. They start off with just basic stuff, but get better and better as you get closer to Black Friday.

In 2014, I snagged a PS4 at a good price just days before BF on Amazon. Last year, I picked up the complete series of "The Wire" on Blu Ray for $20. The deals are pretty good and you can find previews on the page. Most of the time, the really good deals take place early in the morning.

Amazon Prime members get a 30 minute head start. FREE 30 DAY TRIAL.

NewEgg pre-Black Friday deals
NewEgg has officially kicked off their pre-black Friday sales. Last year they had good prices on laptops, video games and other electronics. Believe I picked up Fallout 4 for around $30 in Mid-November.

Here's the Black November schedule for NewEgg
Nov. 1-7: Kickoff deals.
Nov. 8-14: Gaming, including notebooks, components and accessories.
Nov. 11-18: Black Friday exclusive deals (LIMITED QUANTITIES)
Nov. 27-28: CYBER MONDAY deals.

Early Black Friday Sales
Home Depot: Appliances up to 40% off.
Best Buy: 40% off appliances.
HHGregg: Appliance sale.
Lowes: Appliance sale

Approximately 1,000 new pieces from Target’s newly introduced line for kids, Cat & Jack, each under $30.
More than 1,800 new or exclusive toys will be available, about 15 percent more than in 2015. Guests will find thousands of Star Wars products, including more than 100 new exclusive options to gift and collect; more than 50 Trolls exclusives; two new Disney Princesses, Elena and Moana; expanded eye, hair and skin tone combinations within the Our Generation doll collection; and 50 exclusive board games, including pop culture hits such as Oregon Trail.
Newly released virtual reality products including PlayStation VR and VR One Plus, and connected home products including Google Home.
An exclusive 10-disc box set from Garth Brooks, which includes the artist’s new album and features the 25th anniversary edition of “Friends in Low Places.” The box set is available for preorder now for $29.99 at Target.com/Garth and is available at Target Nov. 11, two weeks before the artist’s new album is available at other retailers.

Popular promotions from 2015 will return, including 10 Days of Deals, which will feature a distinct offer each day for 10 days. Target also will extend its free shipping promotion by a full week this year, waiving the shipping fee for all digital orders from Oct. 25 through Jan. 1, 2017. Cartwheel, Target’s digital savings app, is bringing back popular holiday deals, including 50 percent off one toy per day between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24, and on Dec. 4, guests will save 10 percent on Target GiftCards. Guests also will save with free returns and an extended Price Match Guarantee, which enables them to price match any purchase made Nov. 1 through Dec. 24, excluding Thanksgiving through Cyber Week.

How are you planning on utilizing your 4k television?
Are you planning on buying a 4k player with hard media?
If not, 4k is sort of a waste of money at the moment.

There are not 4k broadcasts yet?

What would you recommend?

My Sony is good, but a little choppy in high action/sports.

I would recommend waiting for a bit to see which services will be offering 4k content. Sony, Netflix, cable providers and the biggest concern is compression over decades old infrastructure. Even at 1080, compression for certain services is mediocre at best, and a better TV is going to exploit that. Hell, FOX's HD coverage of games is spotty at best sometimes.
I'll be in the market once more standards are agreed upon for 4k (or UHD).

Owning a 4k television at the moment is like owning the Ferrari and just taking it out to go grocery shopping.
The content will eventually be there.

I had a chance to sit in an 8k theater at NABShow a few years back with 22.2 surround sound.
It was amazing, but it was being fed from the source, which was probably fiber based to allow all of that data to run at a better compression rate.

I never got them on BF before, but the farm and fleet has some pretty good deals.

Haven't seen one around here. I'll need some soon and tires have gotten pricey.
Thanks for the thought...

Never even occurred to me buy tires on BF. Good call ... I need to get on that this year.

Yea... I'm interested.
I need them and are about 1500 when said and done.
20% of that would be sweet.

Just talked to the guy at farm and fleet. They will be having the buy 3 get one free deal on black friday this year again. Check out their sale papers on their website when it get's closer. I went to the brand new store on Weber road in Romeoville and they had the same deal for their grand opening when I got mine.

I got four Goodyear Wranglers with kevlar for my truck. Should of been around $1000, but was $780 for tires, mounted, balanced, all taxes, disposal fees, and a 4 wheel alignment. I then opened a farm and fleet card and got an extra 10% off so I was out the door at $707. Absolute steal. I just paid off the card right away and used it for the discount.

Plus I got an $80 rebate card from Goodyear. So really $627 out the door for everything.

It's a really nice store and shop. Brand new facility.
