Heisenburg was into physics...had some theory about it being impossible to determine true speed and exact location at the same time. Am I on the right track here?

YES!
Basically the whole premise behind this is that Heisenburg demonstrated that the more you know about the location of an electron, the less you can determine about its speed. Likewise, the more you know about the velocity of an electron, the less you can say of it's position in space.
