1. Ben Folds - Stood 2nd row and shook his hand
2. Motion City Soundtrack - only bad part was some kid always trying to crowd surf
3. Death Cab For Cutie - Stood like 2-3 row most of the time until some drunk ass holes literally shoved me out of the way to get closer.
4. Andrew Bird - So. Good.
5. Dave Matthews Band - Been to three shows and they never disappoint.

I would love to see Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, John Mayer, Taylor Swift and All Time Low.

Yep. Saw the Who twice, Smashing Pumpkins twice, and Metalica before they released the black album. Aerosmith, U2(pre-sellout days), the Cure.. just loads of stuff that I'm glad I didnt wait on.

I also saw the flaming lips, and they are in my top 5, but I didnt mention them, because lots of people dunno who they are.

Blink is awful live. I saw them a few years ago and I think they played about fours songs in an hour in a half and just made dick and fart jokes the other hour and fifteen minutes.

I've been to quite a few concerts, but I'm trying to think of my favorites...

I guess they would be (in no particular order):

-Pantera (saw them in Cedar Rapids, IA in '02 I think)
-Tool (saw them twice first in Cedar Rapids, IA in '01 then in Moline, IL in '02)
-Chimaira Christmas in Cleveland in 01 or 02 (I've seen Chimaira live probably 6 or 7 times)
-Headbanger's Ball Tour in Chicago in '03 at the Vic Theater (Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Shadow's Fall and Unearth).
- Buckethead in Urbana in '06 (Dude was amazing and played for like 2 hours)

I dunno how old you are, but I think I'm lucky for living in an era with good music and a strong enough economy for people to afford tickets to those good shows. Now it kind of sucks, and most bands are somewhat lazy, don't want to do live shows, as well as being some kind of puppets(so who can blame their motivation levels).

And rule #1, don't ever give a flat out no, when someone asks you to see a show, that you might object to seeing. Just go, because it's fun, even if you have to see something pretty lame. Your tastes will change, and in retrospect, those objected shows end up being great experiences.

I went to see the Boney M reunion tour. I had no choice, as I was dragged into going by a much older friend of mine! But I guess looking back on it, I can say that I saw a genuine disco performance. And I ALWAYS hear someone rip-off their music. Disco, but most(not all, they did some covers too) of it was extraordinarily original.

Yeah... That. LOL

I'm 23, i got into music a little too late, the downloading music thing hit when i was in middle school and after that a lot of bands quit the tours. In my brief time of going to concerts (about 5 years now) i have seen some great shows there is just a couple bands i wanna cross off my list before they either die/or retire. The who, rush, tom petty are all at the top of my list. And as a rule i dont say no to concerts i freaking love live music and just because you have never heard of someone doesnt mean they suck.

If you get the chance to check out The Heavy, dont pass it up first band ever to get a unscheduled encore on Letterman I saw them last summer and they were incredible.
