Cahill @ Zambrano

Fukudome
Castro
Byrd
Ramirez
Pena
Soriano
Soto
DeWitt
Zambrano

I actually like that line-up. I'd rather Colvin be starting over Fukudome, but as long as Colvin still gets AB's then whatever. (But when he only has half the AB's he had last year, and he hits 10 HR, don't go saying that you told us his power was a fluke, CO).

Cubs are -125 today.

I might have to put some money on Oakland.

That line up needs Soto hitting much higher.

I won't, Jntg. I will say that I told you, when his ISO is 50 points lower.

ISO doesn't say that they can or can't hit for power though. Their physical ability determines that, not some stat.

BTW, out of curiosity, what is the ISO formula?

Oh My God... You never cease to amaze me. Here you go.

It most certainly does say if they can hit for power or not.

IsoP is basically SLG-AVG.

ISO = (2B + (3B*2) + (HR*3)) / AB

That shows how well they DID go for extra bases. Never proves that they CAN or CAN'T hit homers. Colvin didn't hit a lot of 2B or 3B, he still can hit homers. That formula doesn't say he can't.

So HR's are the only form of power?

And use that formula for any major league player last year. Then take their SLG-AVG.

I bet the answers are pretty close. Do me a favor pick 10 players and test it out tell me the margin of error.

I am interested to know your findings.

I was referring to how CO has said several times that Colvin would have an extremely hard time getting close to matching his HR totals from last year based solely upon ISO.

I'll try it and get back to you.
I'll take Pujols, Votto, Fielder, Castro, H-Ram, Uggla, A-Rod, Youk, Dunn, and Soto.
