That's kinda what I'm saying. They better KNOW he's special, because if he's not, and then he ends up playing guard, people are gonna be talking about his arms forever. Lol.
If he’s a pro bowl guard, I think people wouldn’t care a ton. That’s the positive in all this. If you’re sure he’s a starter on this team for a decade, people should get over it. The unique part of taking this shot is you don’t totally lose if OT doesn’t work out cause you may still have a hell of a guard.

Bro you ain’t gonna find day 1 impact in the 3rd round 99% of the time. You can find useful players in the 3rd on day 1 but 99% ain’t making the impact you are looking for in their rookie season.
I 100'd you but you can get RBs there almost every year. It's the draft position outlier.

You know, considering what the Bear have done this offseason and what we know about Johnson, the Bear may just go BPA and take Jeanty. The more I watch him run, the less I'd dislike the idea and I'm one of those don't take an RB early guys.

He would be the most plug and play starter we could take there. Everyone else we could take, online or dline, could easily start the season on the bench.

That's fair. But I also feel like a surefire Tackle is a better bet here, because if you take Campbell and he ends up being a Guard at the pro level, when will he realistically help the Bears due to the trades/signings of Thuney and Jackson?

Maybe I'm being too nitpicky. I also kinda just want the Bears to replace Braxton Jones. 🤷‍♂️

I agree. If they went OL at 10, I’d definitely hope they find a LT. For the guards though, with Thuney’s age and Jackson’s injury history, I would expect the need at guard to come sooner than later. In a perfect world, they each give us a minimum of 2 years though.

Right, but drafting an injured guy that you knew you’d most likely have to IR that played in the ivy sure as **** isn’t trying to find a day 1 player

Is that accurate? My quick Google search gives membou an 81inch wingspan, seems like a sizeable difference if true. I have seen arm length cited by many for other prospects but idk how NFL starting tackles size up as far as wingspan.
Got it off the combine

"He measured in at 6'5" and 319 pounds with a 9.48-inch hand, 32.58-inch arm and a 77.18 wingspan. His wingspan will be a talking point leading up to the draft as offensive lineman prospects with shorter arms tend to fare better at guard rather than tackle, but considering how well he performed, it seems like he could play just about any position on the offensive line."

I wonder if a “run” starts at RB and pushes those OSU guys up. I’ve been reading that is a strong possibility.

I’d bet if Taylor was there at 72, they would grab him that’s of course if they don’t lose their minds and draft Warren at 10 if he’s available.

Thats exactly why DJ said that he thinks there could be 3 or 4 RB's go in round 1.
If Jeanty/Hampton go top half, I could see another 1/2 go in the bottom half.
you are very informed, have you seen the Campbell arm length discrepancy elsewhere?
hers is DJ's write up on Campbell.

There's not as much panic around the league as you might expect when it comes to his arm length due to the discrepancies in measurements between the combine and all-star games/last spring's weigh-ins.

I don't get people mocking Campbell to us. If anyone has paid any attention at all to Poles during his career he values certain traits in his tackles. Braxton Jones and Kiran Amegadjie both have those traits. It's highly unlikely Poles will suddenly do a 180 on those and take Campbell especially when Braxton Jones is (pretty much) Poles' guy.

Considering the "traits" thing too, I'm a bit fearful that Stewart will be the pick at #10. The lack of college production scares me but the only saving grace there would be that he doesn't need to come in and have to dominate, nor even play a ton of snaps, from day 1. If he can be a decent contributor in year 1 and then start to take off in year 2 then you'll have hit a homerun with the pick. You're looking for basically a Travon Walker trajectory: only 3.5 sacks in his rookie year and now 10+ in his second and third years.
I think Biggs point that they could put Campbell in at guard and he'd probably be very effective there.

At 10 you want a productive player that will help the team. Campbell is kind of a safe pick on the line. He can compete at Tackle or start at guard after Thuney.

I wouldn't do it, but I can see the argument for it.

Yea. That’s something you do when you’re picking towards last. Bears need immediate contributors still. If Ben and Roushar think he’s better than Braxton then fine, do it. Last thing Poles needs is a 1st rounder that can’t get on the field.

Thanks Luke. I’ll bet the Bears do their own measurements when he’s at Halas Hall for his top 30.
