He does have T-Rex arms but should be able to compensate for that by adding strength and improving technique but probably dont want him blocking DEs one on one a lot in the passing game.

This is the most questionable pick by the Bears in the entire draft, and it wasn't a surprise to see Ruben Hyppolite II didn't land on any consensus big boards (that ranged from the top 100 to top 350). But Chicago must've seen something in him because they made him a fourth-round selection. Hyppolite has impressive speed and could compete for a depth role, but right now this looks like a big reach for the Bears.

This may be true but when they traded down from 41 to 56, they didn't know which one would be there.
Many boards had Ersery ranked ahead, but Jeremiah had Ozzy ranked ahead so thats why I included Ersery in the mix.
I do love the BO'B over the top love for Ozzy so let's hope most of it is true and he pans out.

That's a good point. My main point is that it worked out better this way anyway. Maybe it's just dumb luck, but Poles may have also thought that he could gamble on either one being there later and being happy to take whichever fell.

His ability to run a Whip route is like nothing I've ever seen from his position. His ability to sell and then sink his hips and pirouette on a dime is really something else for anyone, let alone a player of his size. He creates separation like a top tier slot wr.

It makes you shake your head that this guy is 6’ 6” with that type of fluidity and agility.
I really never had him on my radar at 10, but I get it. Especially, with Burden in the mix too.

Whether they’re in 11 or 12 personnel, they’re going to just have so many ways to attack defenses and for the first time maybe ever, I actually trust the HC/play caller to put it all together, and to fully exploit the defenses weaknesses

Think it was reported that because Hypolite's Pro Day was so late that he missed the deadline for the drafniks rankings. Brugler in particular noted the pro day would have led to him upgrading his projection if it had come earlier in the draft cycle.

It was kind of shocking when they took him. It’s quite rare when I haven’t even heard of the player. However, I read a number of NFL scouts had their eyes opened by his pro day showing. Plus, he played a ton of football at Maryland.
Poles didn’t select this guy in a vacuum. DA had to be in on this.

This has been addressed. Most of the media's big board had been set before his proday. While NFL teams had adjusted, the media did not. He came out of nowhere for the media.
That being said Zierlein had him round 5. Where the Bears selected him was not a stretch for NFL GMs.
