No you’re not crazy.

The fact Hunter can play both ways at a high level shows insane athletic ability and is rare, especially at the NFL level. But I have never thought he was the best WR in the draft, nor is he the best CB in the draft. So he can play both positions at a high level, and that has a ton of value to a team. But time will tell if he can play either at an elite level, as I don’t think he can at this point.

I was and still am a bit bummed about the Loveland pick. But I think getting Burden was incredible, and he will give defenses headaches for years.

Travis Hunter is a very good football player, his thing though is that he is good at WR and good at DB elevating his draft stock. Now is he great at either of those spots, we won't know and he definitely has the skill to become that, but as of right now that is pretty big gamble to take that high. Best of luck to him
Yea. I’m still just scratching my head both at Jags trading up for Hunter AND Burden being available at 39 when some here were suggesting we draft Burden at 10. Hunter could be a phenomenal DB , idk, we’ll see I guess. He just doesn’t look special as a WR.

The trade up would have made more sense if they were targeting Carter in my opinion.

I'm low-key concerned about the Burden injury. I've had the wind knocked out of me, and honestly it was a couple of minutes max of panic the first time before things reverted to normal. It wasn't 7-8 minutes or so as I've heard reported. What concerns me is that it might have been more than that but he's playing tough-guy and didn't want to miss practice and in reality it was some kind of rib or sternum bruise. It's commendable that he doesn't want to miss practice time, but it's also not necessary in the infant stages of an off-season.

Pretty sure if he returned to practice he'll be fine by September!

That would seem reasonable, wouldn't it? And yet, the Bears have historically had some bizarre "minor" injuries that have taken an inordinate amount of time.

Except that he already returned to practice….
So no Bear has ever "returned to practice" and not had lingering injury which affected their playtime long after everyone thought they were healed. Got it.

And was running routes effortlessly…
Ah okay well I had heard that he had a 60 yard completion on day 2 and looked excellent on day 2, but I wasn't there to see him on any of the days, let alone day 3; nor had I seen anything specific about how he looked on day 3.

Note I do not want him to be injured. For historical reasons however I don't trust this team's injury reporting. And I did mention it's a low key concern. I have just never seen anyone down for more than 5 minutes for getting the wind knocked out of them.

It's football. Try to get used to it.

Are you suggesting he will have lingering issues because someone who wore the same uniform once had lingering issues?

Correlation?
