I think he’s a LT personally, and prob top 2 this draft….i just don’t think any of the LT prospects are going to be elite in the NFL….see him more as top 15ish/league average

So we are taking a guy at #10 who is basically braxton jones. Good to know.

Quick question for the room...

Why is no one talking about the two most interesting tidbits I found out about recently in the "Beast"?

#1 Will Cambell has had a ton of flags over the last couple of seasons: 14 flags with 7 false starts.

#2 Ashton Jeanty has had a lot of fumbles: 5 last season (one called back for penalty) and 9 in the last two seasons.

We probably won't hear about them at all until right after the Bears draft one of them I'm sure.

Most people know about #2 but dont mention it.

Its always been an issue of his, but a lot of it is because he has great "contact balance". As in he's not going down but then guys are trying to strip the ball.

I dont think it will be as much of an issue in the NFL because he's not going to have the same contact balance/broken tackle plays in the nfl.

Still not a fan of taking him at #10 but i wont cry if it happens. Likely the difference between him vs. a 2nd round RB in this class behind the bears OL is not that large.

Yeah, I can’t make up my mind on Banks. For every positive blurb I read about him, I read something like this:

There is some debate whether or not he translates best to tackle or guard at the next level, and some of his physical deficiencies have shown through this season. For one, he is not asked to set at depth a ton, and when he does his foot speed is a bit slow. This showed up big time against Georgia in the regular season.

Here is what Thorn had to say on a potential Banks tumble:
Yup, I said the same thing some pages back. People seem to be mostly positive, but then just say he's most likely a guard. But, Thorn projecting him as a guard is what's really set my expectations of him being unable to be an elite LT.

I don't think they Bears will take Banks anyway... they'd have brought him in for a 30 visit. Unless he shows up in the next 2 days, you can basically cross him off.

That would actually be pretty useful for us, given Jones situation. League average LT aren't cheap. But maybe they think they have something in Kiran. I have no read on him outside of him being a massive human being.

They can't tear apart every prospect in this draft or there's nothing to even look forward to.

Btw, here's McShay's OL board.

So Jeanty, Hampton, Johnson will have visited.
Bears are most definitely taking a RB with one of their top 3 picks, Ben needs his new weapon.
So they're taking Henderson?

Because teams think they are correctable.

Tiki Barber was known to fumble a lot. Coughlin tweaked his technique on how he would carry the ball and helped him reduce fumbles.

Same with penalties for Orlando Pace, Zach Martin, and John Hannah.

Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t.

Kaleb will be a Bear.

Based on their visits outside of Blue and Smith, the guys they’re interested in all probably have to be drafted by 41.

Eddie George let it out of the bag that they asked for a lot of information on Judkins too.

Supposedly, Bieniemy is fond of Henderson.

I like Henderson, but I think he goes in the 1st. That’s going to leave Judkins, Scat, or Kaleb. Just calling my shot, but I think it’s Kaleb.

That is absolutely who I want that will reasonably be there at 10.

I’ve been correct about (and agreed with) the last three number one picks although Caleb was a given.
The crazy part about the whole process is that during the college season everyone was all about Banks Jr. and Campbell. The narrative didn't really switch until people stopped watching the game film and started nit picking measurements

Johnson loves to run the ball. Banks Jr. is an excellent run blocker. He’s a solid pass protector too and should only get better being coached by Roushar.

That’s not really true. The offseason is the time where people are dissecting the film. How can people make conclusive decisions during the season without complete info? At minimum, people need time to break down everyone’s tape and that’s a tall ask during the season.
