I think you just missed my point. I mentioned specifically that they draft late and was only talking about OT, so Humphries and Trey aren't even in the conversation.
My point is you have to take an OT early or you're stuck always gambling on Day 2 players who will likely never pan out. Your explanation of them being gone or backups is exactly my point of why I don't want to continue to take OTs after Day 1. Guys like Braxton and Kiran have a low chance of being high end starting LTs in the NFL. More likely than not, they aren't cornerstones that you keep around. If you want that type of player, be ready to spend a top 15 pick on the guy.
And as I said, I get why the Chiefs do it. They have late picks, and no choice. But the Bears have premium picks, so there's no excuse to ignore the problem.
