I didn’t watch a lot of Olu. The 2 guys I was hoping for were either Bowers of Fashanu. Fashanu would have looked great in a Bears uniform.

B: The question shouldn’t be can a rookie tackle play better than Braxton next year. The question should be who is better 2 or 3 years from now. It’s a long term decision

I understand the injury component.

I think Braxton is an average T. Maybe even slightly above average. If you believe the T you want at 10 to be a cornerstone LT for a decade, then yeah, you expect him to beat out your average LT that is in place out of the gate. Maybe Banks gets better in 2 years, maybe they discover he’s just not a good pro T and kick him inside.

People have different opinions on player projections. I think Banks will be an average T, hence why I don’t think he’s worth the 10 pick, even though I would understand the swing. You apparently think he will become some franchise LT. I disagree with that projection.

Was Olu even that good last year? I didn’t watch a lot of NYJ games but he barely graded out as average. He definitely would not have beaten out Braxton.

The thing I dislike is when people mention "this player only gave up these many pressures and this little sacks in college".

Thats true for all the lineman taken in the first few rounds typically and most of them suck in the NFL.

For people who think he will be a great LT, then sure, not only is he worth it at 10, he would be worth a trade up to get that franchise LT.

I just believe this is unfortunately a very bad draft for LTs. Even the top 2. I think Campbell plays G and Membou never having played on the left side is a very valid concern. I don’t want them to use 10 on a T who I believe will be an average placeholder until a true franchise LT can be had.

Plus, nothing prevents them from targeting a LT early next year.

Lol. You're pretty fired up Mr. Banks. We see the player a different way. No big deal. I's not an uncommon opinion that Banks has some limited movement and athleticism, and it's pretty well understood he will have to do different things in the NFL than he did at Texas.

Making valid points equates to “fired up?” I asked you what games you watched to come to your conclusions. You deflected which I knew was coming.

It’s all good and what I expected.

For example, I don’t know shit about Membou because I haven’t watched much Missouri football so I’m not throwing out BS. I’d still be happy if they draft him because I think the offensive line still needs depth and talent.

Huh? I said Georgia and Michigan, but not OSU. Gave reasons why I don't like him . They are similar to others concerns. Not sure why you are coming at me about this. You like him at 10, I don't. That's kind of the case with all prospects in that range. They are polarizing.

What if Banks can’t even beat out Braxton this year and it turns out he just isn’t anything more than an average LT at best? And then they are still constantly looking to upgrade the LT position despite using the 10th overall on it?

I think you just missed my point. I mentioned specifically that they draft late and was only talking about OT, so Humphries and Trey aren't even in the conversation.

My point is you have to take an OT early or you're stuck always gambling on Day 2 players who will likely never pan out. Your explanation of them being gone or backups is exactly my point of why I don't want to continue to take OTs after Day 1. Guys like Braxton and Kiran have a low chance of being high end starting LTs in the NFL. More likely than not, they aren't cornerstones that you keep around. If you want that type of player, be ready to spend a top 15 pick on the guy.

And as I said, I get why the Chiefs do it. They have late picks, and no choice. But the Bears have premium picks, so there's no excuse to ignore the problem.

I get it but when someone says they took 5 guys that can bump inside if they can't be Ts, it has a different meaning.

DJ had his pre draft national call in today asking him questions and he addressed the Pats at 4.
He said they HAVE to go LT and believes it will be Campbell.
He also said that he spoke with 3 teams and one liked Campbell, one liked Membou and the other liked Banks best.
Mcshay had his OL podcast and said that all his nfl peeps he spoke with thinks its Cambell...... then Membou/Banks.
I've recently heard the Raiders could go OT at 6, imagine if they did and the Jets also did at 7.
That would mean all 3 would be gone before 10. OT's go quick and there could be an early run.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and its 6 days before the draft so buckle up boys.

I'm with you. After pick ten, the Bears have 39, 41, 72, 2026 Free agency and draft, the option to evaluate Braxton and Kiran for a year, and the option to tag Braxton next year. I don't see those dire need to reach at 10 for a LT.

Jordan James is a guy that should get talked about more for the Bears.

I think he'd be a good fit with Swift because he's that run hard, bowling ball runner to Swift being the really good receiver.

He's under 210. Swift weighs more. Hampton or Johnson as load back and Swift can be the change of pace. Jeanty is shorter and weighs more. I prefer Tuten for a James type back and expect him to go a coupe rounds sooner. I prefer Cosby-Merrit but expect him to go later due to lack of play.
