Several important OSU players out with Covid
Here's a topic I was talking about with some friends a few weeks ago - is the CFP ruining college football?
Essentially every 18 year old 5 star recruit in the country wants to play for a National Championship. The 3 teams that are always in the convo - Bama, Clemson, OSU. They get all the studs and the rest of the college football landscape is left fighting for the rest leading to very little parity.
Nah, those teams are at the top now, but it’s shifting constantly. Bama and OSU have had pretty long dry stretches, Clemson just recently became top-tier. Florida was dominant in the early 2000s, FSU had a nice run before that. UGA is always near the top in recruiting and competing. Coaching and scouting and recruiting is what gets it done. Nothing preventing USC, Michigan, etc from improving their programs. Here's a topic I was talking about with some friends a few weeks ago - is the CFP ruining college football?

D Smith looks older than 22 to me. I'm sure he's not, but he looks like he's about 26.
You can't go back further than when the playoffs began tho. The topic was surrounding recruiting and how much an advantage it is for these programs who make the playoffs every year. The longer the playoffs go on as designed, the harder it will be for other teams to even make it as there are only 5-6 programs that make it consistently so all the top recruits will go to those few programs.Nah, those teams are at the top now, but it’s shifting constantly. I see your point, and it’s valid. I overlooked your premise on connecting it to the playoffs. Maybe expand the number of teams? ‘Wildcard’ spots for teams outside the Power 5?You can't go back further than when the playoffs began tho.
