@Penny Traitor and @nvanprooyen got this rolling so props to them for frontrunning today's FBT with just an amazing inspiration.

It's a Mf birria BATTLE today. Whomst will have the best stew game? Impossible to know for sure because it's the internet and we can't taste anything that is made due to Covid protocols but I got this started yesterday and it's gonna be fantastic.

Groceries: had to restock some dried chile got some ancho and pasilla to add in with arbol and guajillo. A few slabs of bone in chuck (made beef broth with one slab) and 4 lbs of BEEF CHEEKS (cachete) because I couldn't get a goat leg on short notice. Got some Oaxacan cheese as well for putting this meal together. Poblanos for the veg.

Stock done, bowl of peppers, oregano, garlic, peppercorns, coriander, cinnastick.

This stuff together thru some various cooking stages makes a birria. That birria, in my case is going to be a sandwich component.

Pausing for @Penny Traitor and @nvanprooyen contributions now. Looking forward to the flavor discussions and Justin Fields debut 2day!

What yall cooking/eating for the big bears L today?

I make cachete a couple times a year. Most underrated meat.

Made some polish sausages last night, brought in from a butcher in South Bend by a friend. German potatoes, Polish noodles, horseradish slaw. Good eating.

My game day eats plan hit a snag.

Sorry @nvanprooyen & @HeHateMe , but I got no corn tortillas. No El Milagro, no taco dinner.

Trying to come up with Plan B this morning and will check back in when I do.

Your wife is literally a baker, you need to get her some masa and put her to work boyo!

Damn man, I can't eat anything that late (game broadcast time). I'll live vicariously through others.

I had to bail out too. Fam insisted on beefs for week 1. I'm definitely making that chit though. Looking forward to hearing how yours turns out and protips @HeHateMe

I don't know what my problem is, but I can never get them to turn out right. They always end up being a little on the thick side. Still good, just not as thin as I want them. I've got a decent tortilla press too. Shrug. Maybe more water or something.

More water. Import Chicago tap water for authentic el Milagro Flavor.

Do u put a lil lard in your tortillas?

As it is an 8:20 game here in the toll booth state of NJ, the majority of my eating for the day will have already been complete before kickoff. I would say some leftover spicy breaded shrimp might be perfect for halvetime, if the first halve doesn't have my brane in too deep of a state of depression.
