I think Kuc or Adam Jahns did an interview with Paul Goodman. For those of you that don't know Paul Goodman is the teams strength and conditioning coach. He works with all the players over the summer, even those who are not in Chicago. He gives each player a workout and conditioning routine.

If we take Kaner for example we all noticed the bulk at the convention, which was directly due to the massive workout routine Paul Goodman had him doing. Now in Pat's case the upper body portion had to be modified or curtailed all together when he had the surgery on his hand. So for him he's been on a great lower body regime since. Although he was in Chicago for a checkup this week and is on schedule for training camp. Which is good news for all of us and him because I would think in the next couple of weeks he might be back to working out both upper and lower again.

These guys are going to be a force this year. Night and Day difference from last year which had almost no or very little training with the Cup and everything else going on. Can't wait for Camp to start!!

DROP THE PUCK...

PS I think it was Kuc that did the article if someone wants to locate it. Paul is a very nice guy and knows his shit.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I also hear Super Dave Bolland has been a machine in the offseason.

There was some article about the programs Goodman has the players on during off-season. They have a website where they can log on with their personalized training programs available to be printed out and videos with Goodman demonstrating how to do the exercises correctly and safely, so they can do their training wherever they are during the summer. I don't know how it was in the past, but I imagine it's a vast improvement on how the organization was run with details like this and further exemplifies that the Hawks are run as a top-class franchise and word is getting around the league that they are all business and are going for consistent excellency.

Have you had a chat with him recentlyer?

Kane raises doubts he'll be ready for Hawks camp

Kane had surgery to repair a scaphoid fracture in his left wrist July 19, with a stated recovery time of six to eight weeks. General manager Stan Bowman said recently Kane was on track to be ready for the start of training camp in mid-September, but the winger seemed to indicate otherwise Tuesday when he told a Toronto radio station that he's targeting the team's regular-season opener Oct. 7 against the Dallas Stars for a return.

"I went to get it checked out (Monday) and everything seems to be checking in right now," Kane told The Fan 590 in Toronto. "(It was) good news (Monday): I should be ready for the start of the season."

Unless he counts the start of the season as the start of pre-season?

Yes I have had a chat with him recently. He's right on schedule and in fact here in Chicago for a check up. They've now checked him 4 times. He might not be ready at the start of camp but we knew that going in. His goal is to be ready for the season start. Realistically how much camp do guys like Kane, Sharp, JT, ect need? He'll be ready.

I was just looking for clarification because you said training camp and he sounded like he was saying season opener.

I don't think they'll rush him. Sounds like Stan is talking camp, and Kane is talking first game. So I'm guessing some where in between.

When those Prentiss Hockey vids were posted a couple of weeks ago I have to admit I found them mesmerizing. Not just because of the two brief but impressive glimpses of Ben Smith but just because the whole program and center is impressive. Totally made me go to their website and read the Press section about Ben Prentiss and interviews with him about how he started his gym and his studies, etc. Fascinating.

Also, here is there vid with several athletes---Ben Smith comes in at the .036 mark and holy crap are Martin St. Louis' short little legs fucking IMPRESSIVE. No wonder MSL has still been putting up banging seasons of late.

Ben Smith scares me.

I know right? LOL

I am kind of fangirling on this whole Prentiss Hockey thingy I admit. Those vids of box jumps they Max Pacioretty doing? Holy crap! And the tire and wheelbarrel and sled training? That shit is crazy. From what I read, Ben Prentiss works with the hockey pros himself, retrains them in regards to nutrition and they have to do individualized 1 hr. workouts 6 x a week with their excercises changing every couple of weeks. He gives them emails of their regimens, gives them daily menus, etc. That program is hardcore.
