Charles said it best, "we only die by the jump-shot". I noticed that when our jumper isn't falling, we don't revert to getting scoring from our bigs. The sad story is that none of our bigs niche is scoring, it's displaying energy and hustle. We have to address this need in order to get on the next level. And fans, you can forget about the Raptors GM trading Bosh for some underachieving Forward in Ty.Thomas and some picks. They're not moving their young franchise piece for our mediocre baggage. I find that laughable that we can trick them into doing that. Face it, the core we have is nice if you're continuing to build through the draft. You can't help but think Paxson is going to take a look at what Celtics did that weaken us. Their inside scoring has raped us. It was times during the series where I just thought Pierce was trying to let us come back, almost in a toying affect. If we don't make jump-shots, we basically will lose. We had to work hard just to score, while they're squad scored when they wanted too. Rondo gets into the lane anytime he wants and just improvises. Rose couldn't even get into the paint these last couple of games.

IMPORTANT KEYS

*After seeing what Baby Davis did to us, you can't help but think Dejuan Blair would be a nice addition through the draft. He has intimidated and dominated almost every team he's played on the college level - Thabeet couldn't step up to his challenge. The guy probably can bring 20 points on the inside along with 22 rebounds to the Bulls - he has done it in College on a normal bases.

*Resigning Gordon has to be done in a team affect. If his financial need hampers the team future, then you might want to let him walk. You can always develop a Shooting Guard through the draft. Gordon does has flaws and replacing him with a draft prospect isn't bad. Besides, we haven't had back-court issues over the past years. It has been our front-court that we seem to not caught a grasp of.

*Make sure Joakim Noah drive to become better this off-season is to get strong and prevent big guys from taking advantage of him.

*Find out Loul Deng commitment. How does he feel about making sacrifices and fitting into Derricks' team.

*Tyrus Thomas goal this summer should be to improve his IQ and get stronger. Right now he's being limited on the floor because of his flaws on both ends.

*Derick Rose must tap into that MJ spirit that forced the great Airness to become the player he was. You lost to the defending Champs and you must improve your weaknesses and make the team follow your lead. He must enhance his vocal and demanding components. Last, become a better ball protector.

This is crazy to think that Blair could do this, go look at Davis's regular season numbers. I like Blair, and would be happy if we got him, but if you are expecting 20 points of scoring from him you're delusional. He has no jumper, and if you look at Davis's points almost all of them came via the jumper.

Gordon is basically a top 5-6 SG in the league. You're odds of getting an equivalent player in the draft with mid to late 1st rounders or 2nd roundres are extraordinarily low. It doesn't mean you have to keep him per se, but you can't count on replacing him easily.

*Make sure Joakim Noah drive to become better this off-season is to get strong and prevent big guys from taking advantage of him.

I agree, though there's nothing you can do if he doesn't have the drive except trade him or accept him.

I don't think there's anything required about Deng making sacrifices, Deng needs to be healthy, and VDN needs to fit him in the offense better. Deng isn't a spot up 3 point / isolation player, so he doesn't work in our present offense, we need to change the offense, because Deng's unlikely to become a good spot up shooter and isolation player.

*Tyrus Thomas goal this summer should be to improve his IQ and get stronger. Right now he's being limited on the floor because of his flaws on both ends.

That'd be nice, but I don't know what my expectations are for it. I hope this ends up happening though.

Rose is interesting because he's awfully passive at times, and that's something few players change. I don't know if he'll come out and ever be as aggressive as his abilities would mandate.

Hey Doug, when do you think Rose will be confident and able to hit down the 3? In the beggining of the season when Rose was open from the 3 he would often shoot it without hesistating and knocked down a respectable percentage. But after that his 3 point shot has completely dissappeared. A lot people have said how he has only made likw 2 for some large number past this point. I think that statistic is so scewed though because i believe Rose just stoped shooting the 3 when he was open and almost all his attempts were on quarter ending heaves and shotclock bailouts.

So what are your predictions for Rose for next season? Do you think he will be like the beggining of the season or mabe even better? I mean if you look at how teams defend Rose, like Rajon Rondo for instance, they give him a whole lot of space and he has the wide open 3 whenever he wants. If Rose can improve his 3 point shot just enough so guards guard him out there I think his inside game will open up a lot more. If not next year how long do you think it will take before Rose has a respectable 3 point shot?

Blair jumpshot is better than people give him credit. I saw him hit a couple against Thabeet. He's a "dump it in" type of player. I think we need that. He can get us some easy low post scoring.

You can easily improve jumpshot. Big Baby had no jumpshot and praticed it all of last year and now has pretty good one. Blair kinda reminds of Paul Millsap in a small player for his position, really good defender, strong, really good rebound, and Millsap was able to develop a jumper so who knows

We're not getting a BG replacement through the draft with the picks we have. Look at the SGs drafted in the last 5 drafts, I'd have BG as the second best of the bunch, only Roy ahead of him.

Realistically when you're drafting mid and late, odds are you get nothing. I think we have to build through trade. Work out if the 2010 free agent thing is happening, if not we have the expiring contracts that will be very valuable with teams looking to cut costs.
