"Also on the list of potential trade candidates is Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who Maloney admitted can be had if the price is right.

Drafted sixth overall by the Coyotes in 2009, the 23-year-old continues to emerge as an elite-level defenseman and would surely be coveted by many, if not all, 29 teams around the league.

Based on the asking price for Vermette, however, the cost would be significant, opening the door for a blockbuster-type trade that's all too rare in today's NHL."

Would you guys be interested in him and for wheat price?

What do you think it would cost us to get him. Would you being willing to move Sharp or Seabs as well as a early pick to get him?

Nope, don't need a player with a hyphenated last name.

Seriously though (kinda, don't like hyphens), I'd move sharp for him. I'd hate to see Seabs go.

That's as crazy a pipe dream as thinking you could score from your own blue line while short handed..

Is it though. If he's available and you give up sharp, a pick and another prospect I'd make that move if it means getting a guy who's gonna be on your line for a long time.

Phoenix is probably going to be in a rebuild mode. I'm sure the price to acquirhim is going to be hefty and I think to get a deal done McNeil or TT would have to be involved and I think I would pass on that. A cheaper option trade wise would probably be Yandle. Also have to remember that the Kane and toews extensions kick in next year I I only see Stan going after a rental if anyone at all.

I have no interest unless he comes extremely cheap.

OEL has the potential to be a generational talent much like Erik Karlsson.

If you are stacked like the Hawks.... you give up the moon to get a guy like that.

What type of cap hit will OEL demand? Is going to take an established player (s) and picks I'm sure. If they can pull it off and keep it under the cap without moving our existing generational talent I'm all for it.

I'm not positive about what they want but the way much of these things have been going is that teams want to go younger and cheaper. Like I said, I'm not sure what they want but I doubt Sharpe's age and contract have much appeal to them, even though he's a talented player. The big caveat that could change this however would be if someone's job is on the line and they're desperate to win immediately.

I think you're looking at something more like Seabrook and some combination of Saad and Teavainen(?).

seabrook or sharp will not get moved at the deadline.

any deals made will probably be small ones for the hawks like a 5th or 6th dman for depth if that.

We are probably going into the playoffs as is with a few minor tweaks for depth.

While OEL is awesome, you'd have to give up quite a bit in return, and also lose out on quite a bit of cap space. No thanks.

OEL on the Hawks would be fantastic, as they don't really have a guy who can skate himself out of trouble since Leddy left town. But I think this is a pipe dream.

Too bad for the Hawks fans but sadly you are right.

Stan has pretty much said this, as in "don't expect too much to happen."
