In the early 70’s my buddies and I went to the Holiday Ballroom on Milwaukee Ave. There were always a group of girls we knew waiting for us. Our favorite band was Kracker and I had a couple of their albums. They were noticed by the Rolling Stones and signed to their label. But they died out around 1976.

They are playing Roscoe Village Burger Fest Chicago Sunday, July 9, 2017, 8:30 PM That's right they worked their way all the way up to Burger Fest in only 27 years.

The lead singer and founding member of Cracker is also the lead singer and a founding member of Camper Van Beethoven. I'm sure Taco knew that.

When The Band stopped backing up Dylan and starting looking for a recording contract for themselves, Levon Helm called them The Crackers, but when they signed their managerial contract with Albert Grossman, they were listed simply as The Band.
