One thing overlooked by all the talking heads.

OK, I keep seeing analysts carry on about having the most max guys being what matters most. So, lets say Miami is able to unload Beasley and can then accommodate 3 max FAs. And lets say those are the big 3: Wade, James, and Bosh. Those 3 alone would cost 49-50 million dollars. That would leave 6-7 million to fill out their roster. With that kind of limitation, who would you find to help Bosh rebound?

Since rebounding is such a big part of the game, is it enough to have Wade, James, Bosh, and some scrubs?

I keep seeing people talk about it like its all about signing the most max guys without considering theres more to it than that.

One thing Ive heard is that Wade and James could handle the ball. OK, fine. You could probably do that and spend a few million on a shooter but then give everyone else minimal salaries. But youre still lacking rebounding.

Chicago led the league in rebounding last year. I doubt Bosh wants to shoulder the entier burden of rebounding. To find someone with numbers comparable to Joakim, youd have to get someone like Marcus Camby who makes 8 or 9 million. Miami only has 6-7 million of cap room in their 3 max player scenario. We have Noah on a rookie contract at a little over 3 million. Then add that we also have Taj who averaged 10 rebounds and 12 points per 36 minutes to spell Bosh at the power forward. And we also have Omer coming on board.

Im actually a little surprised that Pat Riley would go about it this way given the potential issues that Ive identified above.

LOL at another Omer Asik reference.

• Omer Asik, Bulls, No. 36 pick in 2008 draft. The Bulls acquired the 23-year-old Turkish center in a draft-night trade with Portland two years ago. According to sources, the Bulls remain highly interested in signing the athletic, late-blooming 7-footer despite his two injury-plagued seasons with Fenerbahce in Turkey. His game is similar to that of Chicago center Joakim Noah; Asik is a high-energy rebounder, he's raw offensively and he has a knack for shot-blocking. If he can stay healthy -- he missed a lot of time the past two seasons with torn knee ligaments and a broken collarbone -- Asik could help the Bulls' frontcourt soon. Asik wants to play in the NBA and, unlike other players on this list, his European contract expired after this season.

Yep. I'm excited....

He's depth. And he's probably more proven than a lot of these 2nd round picks you see Miami and NYK taking by playing well in Europe.

Who said anythign about doing back flips over Asik? Im looking at rosters that currently have nothing other than a guy or two except for the 2nd round picks they drafted tonight.

Well i think you would have to take off almost a million for Chalmers new contract. I dont see Beasley going anywhere. i guess they still havent bought out James Jones w/ his 4.6M either.

But overall, ive been preaching this same thing. The Bulls have some depth to their team already with guys like Noah and Taj to go along with Rose and Deng, to add on top of a couple max FAs. We also still have JJ going into his second year but hes shown little to nothing. We may not have Wade but we have an all-star in Rose who will only get better. People keep forgetting that. Rose is not near his peak. We have one of the leagues best rebounders in Noah who's also improving his game. We have Deng who may disappear at times but if you add James and any top FA, Dengs your 4th best scorer and 5th best starter. Thats really good. Then you still have NBA all rookie PF Taj Gibson who seems like an ideal big off the bench. We have JJ to foul people...

Miami is a complete rebuilding project. They are honestly best off getting a PF and using the rest of that money to build a deep and great supporting cast.

We would also have a problem filling out the bench but our team also wouldnt be dependent on 3 players. With Bron and Bosh, Bulls have a reliable 6 man rotation. Theres no doubt which team is the better option for these guys. They talked about the Bulls being Bosh's best fit. They talked about how guys like Bosh and Noah would be fits with LeBron and you have a guard like Rose who can run the court with Bron.

Uh, YOU, on this board, when you said in multiple threads that Asik would be a more than welcome addition to a sign-and-trade for Bosh?

How do you even know that?

He's not "depth" if he sucks.

Did Martynas Andriuskeviskus give us "depth"?

This. Until he plays in the NBA and proves something......anything.....he's just another lame big from Turkey.

LOL. This...

Somehow, Asik provides "depth" and would be acceptable trade fodder in a deal for CHRIS FUCKING BOSH, but you're acting indignant with us about "not doing backflips over him"
