wouldn't think there would be interest in something like that without terraforming or something of that nature already having been developed

if they are gonna do something like that why not the moon first? make a deeper space launch station there and build a considerably large dome for habitation?

I do like what they are doing though as a species we need to be branching out into space

There are a few websites and articles on line dedicated to the debate regarding the moon or mars. Most are pretty interesting. I am not even going to try to sum any of it up as it is 4:30 am right now and I don't think I have the skills for writing cliff notes. A lot has to do with the difference in atmoshpheres though as already suggested.

Crazy interesting stuff though. If one is a nerd such as myself.

Solid questions HBKbro that I'm sure somebody has answered at some point. Colonizing: moon vs mars.

Points in favor of Mars from my Pbrain perspective.

Mars has around Double the Gravity of the moon. Could be a factor when trying to colonize rather than visit.

The Water factor.

The Fact that the moon has much more extreme temperature swings because it doesn't have an atmosphere to block out the Suns rays. Mars temperature near its equator is rather mellow. Think Socal in the winter.
