Hey all, don't know your feelings on text-sims, but I definitely prefer OOTP Baseball.

Out of the Park Baseball 12 will be released soon, as well as it's counterpart for iPod touch/iPhone.

Demos of previous versions can be found here.

If you guys have played, what are your thoughts?

It was submitted to the app store 3-4 days ago. Sometime in May for the computer version.

I am interested in this, but how long do the versions last? I dont want to download version 12 for 30 bones and then turn around a month later and have to get version 13.

They can last as long as you want. The leagues I am in both use 10 and we used 6.5 until 10 came out.

Think of it as madden. They improve a little each year but really you pay for the roster update except people update rosters for this as well.

Each year OOTP gets a lot better and gets way more stats.

I've brought this up in other convos, but thought I would throw this out here. I've been a pretty dedicated to Baseball Mogul the past seven years or so. The gap between OOTP and Mogul though has grown to the point where it is hard to justify staying with mogul. The features that are included with OOTP 8 are beyond what Mogul can offer at this point.

I'm using 11 right now, and it is just incredible. I have been playing for awhile, but the differences in how seasons/careers turn out is what blows me away. I had David Wright fall off the face of the earth at age 34 in one league, and then at age 35 he went to shit in another, but I decided to see how long he'd stick around, so I signed him to short-term, small ($1 million) deals, and he played until age 42, set a MLB record for career games played, led the Mets in almost every category for career stats, and compiled about 3300 hits.

What I love about the game, is you can play it your way. I'm an online guy myself, but you can customize it to fit your needs.

I am amazed at the dexterity of this forum...lol. I have been playing OOTP for 10 years now and have every version. I must say that it is the best simulation on the market that I know of, and that includes any sport.

I will be glad when more simulations like this are converted to a video game format. I wish the OOTP people would do a basketball simulation also. That would be great...
