Do you guys take the day off from work or blow off school for opening day? Any certain rituals like going to that same bar every year with friends ETC?

I usually take off work. I live in Cincinnati but I go opening night, the 2nd game of the series. The tickets are so much cheaper. I still haven't figured out how Cubs fans make it out to so many day games. I think if they switched to primarily night games, they would be able to compete. Day games require everyone to get up early, no sleeping in, no night life.

Luckily all my classes in the past have been done by the 1st pitch so I rush home, turn on WGN, fire up the stove & make some brats.

Since I was a freshman in college, I've always taken Opening Day off/not went to class. During school, most of my friends were Sox fans, so we'd always have a TV on with both games. Now, I head over to my parents house, make chili with my mom and dad and watch the games.

In HS me and dad used to have a cook out. Now that I'm in college I usually have class.

I just hope I get to watch it somehow. Or something might die.

Usually hit the Cubby Bear at 6am for live ESPN Mike and Mike in the morning, then head over and catch the game. And usually don't remember much as the shots are flowing by 7am lol.
