When Jordan Staal returns from injury the Pens will be rolling Malkin, Staal, and Kennedy on a line. We still have the best top end talent in the NHL and by far the best top 4 defensemen.

I'm surprised to see Pisani on the 2nd line when he had solid chemistry with Bolly & Bicks.

Hossa is a far better two-way player than Kane and putting him on the top line with a potential Selke Candidate in Toews is smart. This gives Coach Q two shut down lines that can score. Also Hossa did not play all that much with Sharp last year (they were matched in the post season and late in the regular season), his production dropped significantly when was paired with Sharp.

This is false, I have proved this point on PSD before, if I have to dig up the stats I will. Hossa & Sharp at one point in time after the olympic break were our only offense

Lest we forget...were the final two games of the NHL season that long ago that we forgot our line combinations then? The only difference is Pisani in place of Ladd.

As explained, it spreads out our scoring punch (in the top two) and will cause fits for the opposition's defensive corps. For example, which line would you, as an opposing coach, try to match up your top pairing defensemen against?

And, as also mentioned, they'll change at some point due to ineffectiveness or injury.
