My favorite teams
I have been stretching out my current system for some time, and it's moving down the cabinet for other purposes. So I'm ordering parts for my new system this week.
I have a matched pair of Opteron "interlago's" 6282SE's coming in. I used build studios and such, and a connection called me the other day and he needed to buy a bulk load of parts for a few projects, and let me piggy-back some parts on his order. Let's just say that I'm getting the OEM Matched pair for less than just a single chip could cost. Otherwise I would have waited until spring. I'm also getting a ASUS KGPE-D16 to replace my Tyan board and theres a few other parts I'm getting added to the bill to help him and myself get the best possible prices.
I'm running 2x Opteron 2425's right now. Even though the system is almost 3 years old, it's still holding it's own with most new systems. But I couldn't say no. I used to be that guy who would build a new personal system twice a year, and any added systems that I would have around the house.
I have 16gb of ram, going to get 64gb(8x8gb PC3-10600/DDR3 1333).
I'm also getting 2x Radeon HD7950s. And the rest of my hardware is moving up/down the cabinet, because I don't need anything else.
So yeah, other than bragging, who else here builds systems?
