Are we going to act like they aren't the best team left in the playoffs? If not THE best, they are at the LEAST 1a to OKC"s 1b.

I think they are, they are scorching hot and don't look like they are going to slow down any time soon. Spurs vs. Thunder = real NBA Finals.

Not really, but the general sports media seems to be a little bit. They are 8-0 in the playoffs thus far. Playing really good ball, team ball.

I still can't warm to them. I'd rather any other team in the west.

After the all-star break, I bet my buddy $50 that Spurs would beat the Thunder & advance to the Finals. I was told I was insane to make that bet. So far odds are looking pretty good in my favor. Spurs are going to win another lock-out Championship.

I think the Spurs will win it. They have too many pieces on their team that know how to get it done.

Spurs are gonna beat everyone who is in their way, OKC can't stop them they can only hope to contain them.

Spurs are beasting right now. I'm not going to go so far as to say they're going to pound everyone, but they'd give OKC a run for their money for sure. They can take out the Heat if Bosh remains out too I think.

The Spurs are the most complete team in the playoffs. They can hurt you inside or out. They have 7 (yes, 7!) legit 3pt shooters. They have length and versatility at all positions. They easily play 10 deep with no drop off. They have dynamic wing defenders in Leonard, Green, Neal, & Jackson. And to top it all off, they have one of the greatest coaches of all time at the helm.

There's no team currently in the playoffs that can beat this team 4 times out of 7. Heck, they may not even lose another game the rest of the season.

I don't think anyone is sleeping on the Spurs now. Not even the media. Skip bayless had the Spurs making the Finals before the season even started, so obviously he isn't sleeping on them now. Stephen A. Smith switched his prediction from the Thunder making it to the Spurs and has said that they are now the best team in basketball. The PTI guys said the same thing. Shaq, on TNT, has said that the spurs will win it all. You get the idea.. the media isn't sleeping on the Spurs.

i absolutely love this thread

not gonna get complacent though, we still gotta beat OKC and they're tough, especially at home

but the East is basically just scraps right now except for a wounded Miami....

I understand all that....but Skip Bayless is a major Spurs fan too remember. If there is a legit chance they are top tier at any given year he will be picking them to do very well or win the title. Just the way he is. lol

He may have a point this time around. :dealwithit:

Spurs/Thunder > anyone in the East right now

Like you said, Miami is wounded .....plus they have yet to play a team as tough as either the Spurs or Thunder.

I'm not a fan of either Parker or Ginobelli. They are both good players, but I find their "games" to be annoying to watch. Lots of flopping.

Also, when I used to watch the Spurs, Parker kinda sucked. He must have gotten a lot better the past two years.

There's European/South American basketball for you. Parker really has elevated his game the last three seasons, though.

The Spurs have one of the 10 greatest players ever, two other All-Stars, fantastic role players, the best coach in the NBA and a fantastic crowd. Duncan hasn't played this well in a few years. A lot of this can be attributed to how well balanced their roster is. It's been a long time since I can remember a team's components complimenting themselves so well. I cannot wait to watch them and OKC go at it. I hope that series goes 6 or 7 games. I definitely think each game is going to be hotly contested.

People say our strength is our depth...Spurs have better depth than we do. They're just an all around fantastically built team. With Duncan playing like he's 10 years younger, Parker and Ginobili just being them, and Pop doing his thing, this team is rolling. I wasn't sure before, but now I'm pretty sure they can take out the Heat, especially if Bosh remains out. Leonard and Green would have their hands full guarding Wade and Lebron though...

Our depth is way past overrated. Never in my life will I buy into that.
