Well, the Astros got busted so...

True that...dodgers should be stacked this year. Curious what the dodgers gave up for a year of betts and prices bloated contract

Lot to digest here.

Kenta Maeda to the Twins for Brusdar Graterol
Joc Pederson to Angels
Verdugo to Red Sox
David Price and Betts to Dodgers plus cash

There is still a lot more to report. Boston still getting players on top of Verdugo

Looks like JocPop is not included in this trade. Even better!

Kewl... Dodgers are betting on a good Price year. If they don't get one, they could outscore any other two teams in the league and, with a bit of bad luck in the rotation, still miss the playoffs...

Just noticed that the Angels moved an infielder in all of this. Hmm. I wonder if Maddon has asked after Zobrist...?

No, not included, a casualty with Maeda in the aftermath of who they will not be able to afford.

Thats it, Verdugo the centerpiece back for Betts.

Careful what you wish for with Bryant.

Betts is a 1 year rental vs Bryant giving 2 years of control. Not to mention the dodgers took David price and his contract off Boston’s payroll as well in the deal...totally different expected returns. The fact Boston still got Verdugo in return is pretty solid return for Boston IMO

Joc unfortunately got dealt later last night to Anaheim in a separate trade. Tough to see clutch playoff performers go but we got the second best player in baseball and a good starting pitcher without giving up top prospects or going over the luxury tax. ‘Twas a good night!!

LAD only taking half of Price’s salary. This trade looks a ton different he (Mookie) ups and leaves, but part of me thinks they’re just going to simply break the bank on him.

“Only” half...half of the 90 something million remaining...so Boston freed up around 45 mil or so in salary over the next few years from a mediocre starting pitcher...that’s got value in the trade for Boston to rid themselves of it. And they wouldn’t of been able to get rid of any of prices contract without including betts in the deal.
