I guess it wasn't meant to be. or in the Red Sox case, it was. Had that deal gone down, I wonder if the deal that sent SS Hanley Ramirez and Anibal Sanchez to the Marlins in exchange for Lowell and Beckett would have ever occurred. They were both instrumental in the 04' run at a WS.

Well what i thought was interesting is you would have had Nomar on the chi sox instead of the cubs and magglio going to Boston instead of the tigers if memory serves me correctly. And if I'm also not mistaken didn't Magglio beat down the chi sox in the playoffs for detroit one year knocking them out with a great series?

That trade actually helped the '07 run. Boston got Lowell and Beckett after 05 or 06.
