Carmelo Anthony just hit a game winning three to give the Nuggets a 3-0 series lead.

Antoine Wright just stopped playing defense because he thought he fouled him, giving Anthony a wide open three, which he naturally sank.

I don't think there was really a foul, as there was a bump, but Wright was going away from Anthony.

Then Mark Cuban storms at the court screaming at the refs. Josh Howard and Antoine Wright out there trying to fight some Nuggets, the refs? Had to be restrained off the court.

What a dumb basketball play by Antoine Wright. "Play through the whistle." They teach you that in grade school basketball.

Yeah and it was a clear foul too. The refs just blew it

It wasn't really much of a foul. He didn't bump into Anthony. He bumped away from Anthony. If he didn't give up on the play, they probably still don't call a foul, and Anthony throws up an airball. I've seen Gordon bumped like that time after time in late game situations with no foul call. It just looked really bad because of Wright's low basketball IQ.

I thought it was a definite foul, and well before the shot - having the foul to give, Wright probably figured the refs knew what he was intending and would be watching for it.

But yeah, he definitely assumed a whistle was coming and quit playing after the bump.

Kind of like those plays when a guy knows the other team has to foul and is just standing there holding the ball and waiting for the call, then the ref calls a jump ball or never blows the whistle and the defending team gets the steal. I think everyone knew what the intention was, but the refs have definitely shown you can't count on them to blow the whistle this postseason - except for Ron Artest, of course. ;)

Yeah he was, it wasn't a hard foul and I can't blame him for not giving a harder foul with all the flagarents and suspensions going around but he clearly is trying to take one and the refs should know that in the situation.

If you watch espns recap you can see it towards the end.

http://espn.go.com/video/ its the video that comes up

I thought it was a foul but I can see how it wasn't called. Either way it was a dumb play by Wright. Like others have mentioned, you play through the whistle, basic basketball. This play is exactly why coaches pound this down player's throats.

And at the very least, you should play to the whistle!

Like if you watch Dwight Howard he will goal tend shots after the whistle. (These are on fouls on the ground, not shooting fouls). He does this so the opponent won't get the confidence from seeing the ball go through the hoop. If Howard is going through that much effort, Wright should have went with more effort.

And I think another reason they may not have called it, might have been the refs angle. They might have thought Anthony didn't regain possession of the ball yet.

Wright should have just wrapped him up or shoved him hard out of bounds. Do you guys see Josh Howard getting suspended for his post game antics?

Blown call, sure... but someone should have told the refs that they may intentionally foul instead of giving up the last shot so they'll be sure to call it when it's happening.

Watching this play it was clearly a blown call, but Wright sells it as if he didn't foul him.

He reaches in, and then he puts his hands up like he didn't touch him and wasn't trying to foul him. He sold the "no call".

I dont blame the ref at all, like you said Doug Wright made it look like he didnt touch him.

Well the ref also had a horrible angle to see the foul. He was right behind Melo and really couldn't see over or around to see the foul. It also doesn't surprise me that its Cuban getting screwed.

It probably was a bad no call but Dallas had plenty of opportunities to win the game, so I don't feel bad for them, plus I agree you can't stop on the play bad job by Wright.
